How do you recover from parasocial bullshit ruining your interest in wanting to watch and support vtubers, in case you repeat the same mistake despite being hurt once from it? Whether it was on your end or on the streamer themselves?

Genuinely: See a therapist. Figure out your own hangups and work through them. Alternatively, start working out.

Pace yourself. After breaking out of my first cycle i learned that just disassociating for a couple weeks does wonders. Watching an indie keeping tabs on her social she updates etc. Started to feel that obsessive feeling i had with earlier vtubers i was obssssed with and just stopped watching and following for a few weeks. Picked her back up and it was fine again. So if they ever do shit you dont like its very easy to drop them with little emotional attachment
