This, Cover sets no demands and lets their talents just not di anything if they feel like. If you had a gravy train passive income going and did not actually have to work anymore if you didn't want to, a lot of people would just stop working. Cover lets them do exactly that. While you can say that's nice of them it also enables Cover to undercut its own bottom line by not even trying to maintain its primary growth engine and repeatedly reinventing the wheel needing to get fresh new faces in in good part because half the established streamers are fucking ghosting this job, the audience etc plain as day, just refusing to do the most basic work even a child could do. Most people don't have work as something they actually-like doing, but it is doubly insulting an implication that these girls don't want to "work" even if it means literally having fun playing games for money. Is it because they hold that much contempt for the audience? Wow then fuck you too, etc. There are people who genuinely like being productive and like to be actively working even into old age instead of retire, because they don't like the idea of sitting around wasting away looking out the window for a couple years being useless and then keeling over. These are the types who are driven as Holos like Koyori to Fuwamoco and they just are not common and it should not be expected that is the norm. That is fine. But that is also why employers normally, have rules that the employees actually have to do something there at work, they have to show up, because most employees could not be trusted to work hard solely on the honor system or out of a assumed drive/passion for it. I don't expect Cover to suddenly demand that Gura, Ayame, Shion etc immediately stream daily or they're fired or something, but even one stream a week should not be a hard goal to keep for anyone. Totalbiscuit literally streamed from his deathbed with cancer. I think these girls can find 2-3 hours out of 168 in the week to sit in front of a computer and talk literally no matter what else is going on in their lives. No matter what. I think Ame is bitter as fuck about magni/vesper leaving and would rather not stream than be a cute gosling magnet like she was. Weekly newspapers come out weekly. If they don't, their customers are rightfully disappointed because it's part of the social agreement made. The newspaper promises consistency and promotes that in using the word "weekly". In return, customers of that newspaper will buy it regularly since it's so reliable usually with a greater leeway of the actual quality of the newspaper. Customers have a right to voice the fact that the newspaper is not keeping up with their end of the social agreement that was made. This reminds the newspaper about why their promises are important to keep and encourages them to maintain their promise.

In your world, customers just wouldn't say anything and would just immediately leave rather than sticking around around after voicing their displeasure to see if the newspaper got their act together. That's a way worse world because feedback is actually necessary to understand what your customers value. If you have no feedback, you fall into the apathy void which is possible the single worse place for an entertainer to go into, worse than being a lolcow because at least you have people who watch you, even if it is just to see you punch yourself in the face over and over. The apathy void means that even if you get your act together and produce quality consistently, nobody gives a shit. It means even if you have a fucking public meltdown, nobody gives a shit. You have now completely failed as an entertainer since you have lost your method of communication.

I don't even watch holos except Mumei but this is just basic influencer 101 and people like you, whilst well intentioned, actively make the entire industry worse.

The main fault you seem to have here is the usage of the word "weekly" and at most it's just misleading. There are no customers for Watson Weekly, as in, there's no subscription anyone is paying to receive that form of content-- anyone can watch it-- so your customer analogy doesn't really fit. Originally 3 streams a week were minimum, you had one guaranteed performance, and corporate events. None of these things are mandatory now not even holofes which is extremely ironic because the company is trying to move away from their idol activities while the girls wanted to double down on it. As far as revenue split there is no hard numbers for anything but vague statements.
