Yes really, here's a few things that make it hard to find new chuubas or that twitch does to demotivate you from exploring outside you comfort zone:
>ads are unavoidable for most people, and it specifically targets new viewers, meaning it drives them to click away from a stream if it happens
>lack of thumbnails means there can be no way to determine is a stream is worth your time, meaning new viewers might judge you during a slow part of a stream and then click off if they don't like it
>thumbnails also help differentiate from the 12 other streamers doing the same thing you are
>twitch phone notifications lump everyone into the same group by default due to it being just a text, so chuubas have to think of clickbaity text that people can see the moment they go live and hope each persons' other follows won't drown theirs (YouTube shows a thumbnail for each stream instead)
>twitch encourages long form streaming (3+ hours), which isn't necessarily the best for increasing viewership
>if someone is exploring a channel, there's no way to add short introduction videos and your last stream autoplays, which is just your BGM
>if there is no saved vod, it's just a blank page plus your wall of text sections, rules, and description

The only things that make Twitch marginally better, is their utilization of visible tags that make filtering easy, the integration of QoL add-ons (such as more emojis), being able to gift subs to individuals and last but not least a robust raid system along with it being easy to tell who's live at any time. Everything that actually matters for growing though? YouTube has it in spades. The only way you'll grow on Twitch is by integrating yourself into a clique/networking. Twitch's homepage works against you because there's no clickbait and it often shows communities far more active than yours.

Most general adblockers don't work on twitch. The ones that do usually blank out the stream during the ad segments so you still miss the stream during them. Needing to get a special extension just to block ads properly on a website is pretty shit.
Twitch also fucking devours memory and bandwidth. I can watch three YT streams at the same time with little fuss but just one Twitch stream makes my computer chug trying to multitask on anything more intensive than Notepad.
There is a "fix" to the memory issue, in the form of an extension that just throws the whole site away and makes a new one. It works, but it forcefully blocks the first 30 seconds of the stream even if you have a special adblocker that would normally let you see it, and it hasn't worked with Channel Points since some time in the middle of this year.
Being forced to spend 30 seconds waiting before you can actually start watching a stream makes trying to discover anyone on Twitch a miserable experience. (The alternative is not using the replacement player, but that means you're using memory on two full-scale Twitch tabs.) Not to mention, the lack of rewinding means you miss parts of the stream, parts that could be important since chuubas typically don't manually do ad breaks and let them show up naturally one hour after you entered the stream.
If you do want to see the parts you missed, you have to wait a few minutes for it to be archived then open the Live VOD in a new tab, burning even more memory. You then have to watch 10-50 seconds of stream you have already seen in order to find the part, since you don't get an accurate timestamp, just the hours and minutes. Since you can't pause the original stream without missing more of it, you have to watch the missed part in 5-10 second bursts while nothing is happening with a trigger finger on the pause button.

The top google result says that UBO works for blocking ads on Twitch. This is technically true. During the ad segments, nothing will play, which does count as blocking them. That is not what I'm asking for.
I have TTV LOL installed. It properly removes all Twitch ads and lets me watch streams completely uninterrupted. That is what I am asking for. It does not block any other ads, however.
Combined, they do all of the things I want, but they are still two separate extensions. The thing I am whining about is that Neither UBO nor any other adblocker has implemented the proxy solution or the embed player solution, so all general-purpose ad blockers leave empty space where Twitch's ads should be. I should not need to install a second extension to watch Twitch streams properly, my all-purpose ad blocking extension should be all-purpose.
The only other thing I can find on Google, aside from more Twitch-specific extensions, is AdGuard shilling their own program/extension as a solution for twitch ads. Maybe it does work, but they also mention a "free trial" implying that it's a paid service. If you want to claim that I'm moving the goalposts by requiring it to be free then go ahead.
