I'm literally looking in NASFAQs' client for a way to distribute the Kiryu Kai badge or determine that you obtained it, and it doesn't fucking exist. I'm not very good with Java so I could just be reading something wrong, but I can only barely find evidence that the badge exists at all.
At this point, unless somebody proves to me right now with a verifiable method of acquisition, I am going ot assume that the Kiriyu Kai Badge cannot be legally obtained and every screenshot posted of it is either a shop or somebody fucking with the API.

Locking the badge behind having to buy a coco during the stream was retarded in the first place. This also ignores how honk said on the floor that it would be given to everyone for free. Not only was it NOT given to every current NASFAQ player (making them hunt it down is not "giving"), it wasn't free ($28k an attempt is not free even if you can frontrun the coin, which I'd wager is something most of the playerbase doesn't even know you can reliably do).
This wasn't a good distribution method, which was compounded by the fact that we didn't even know for certain that it was being distributed, nor that there were specific conditions, nor even the nature of those conditions. No, people posting the coin in thread is not "confirmation" of the coin being distributed. It is not difficult to shop that sort of image together.
This is a game meant to encourage people to watch streams, not /biz/. It's not a problem for people to get an edge for understanding how stock markets work. I don't complain about the top 30 being a bunch of jews. Hell, I write up a weekly report on what's going on with the Top 20 to encourage people to understand the numbers better and what's making people money, and a daily report on where inflation's going and what coins are moving. Game information should be accessible, and crying "easter egg git gud" should be treated as FUD trying to deflect the fact that you know this is a limited-time object that could potentially make you money later down the line. Everybody isn't gonna have one of these. Newfags join all the time, and you can bet that some of them will be Tatsunokos that missed this badge. When that time comes, it'll be worth something. Quite a bit of something, probably.

There, forced scarcity, but the playerbase is aware of what it is they're getting, how to get it, and has access to it without any RNG involved. You wouldn't even need to tell players it's coming (so you can keep the element of surprise); just put the icon above Holo and if they don't notice it that's their problem.

Today, people are (understandably) a bit on edge with the whole graduation thing, and I feel like this should have been a fun thing to commemorate the graduation and maybe better people's mood. The implementation, however, was a horrendous. The initial time frame was too small and the people who actually cared about Coco's graduation where busy, you know, watching the stream. This, coupled with the stupid gacha thing more than deserves the criticism it has gotten. I don't think time-limited items are a bad idea per se, but I think the devs definitely failed to read the room here.
