Apparently it used to be originally a term describing a certain type of female who tries to appeal / pander to guys (with the implication that she's fake about it, for example forcing herself to appear like she shares male interests etc, but actually doesn't and just does it for the attention), and especially uses the mechanism of putting other girls down ("trust me guize, I'm not like all those other stupid girls, teehee, plz like me!" etc). But as with most of these slang terms it has long lost what little original meaning it had and is now basically just another shorthand meme insult for "person I don't like" or whatever. Seriously, when there are people on this board who for whatever reasons call Kiara and Pippa pickme's, who couldn't be much further apart, you know the term has no actual meaning anymore.

In the end, it's also a pretty empty insult. Oh no, someone called my oshi a "pickme", i.e. she's guilty of.... trying to pander to me and keep my attention? How terrible, I've now seen the error of my ways and will only watch vapid whores who hate me and don't even bother to pretend to share my interests.
