On the 25th of June 2018, hololive announced that she would be terminated due to an incident that lead to a contract breach. The contract with the artist, behind her illustration, was also terminated on the 26th of June.

Hitomi Chris was officially sacked from hololive and her information was removed from their website. Her channel was deleted and she hid her twitter account.

This is incorrect. Mel wasn't originally part of Gen 1, she was a non-gen like Roboco. That's why she debuted weeks before the other Gen 1 members. When Chris was erased from existence, Mel was added to Gen 1 to maintain the 5 member dynamic.
