Honestly, is a floor more important than a ceiling when it comes to numbers? Nobody would be blaming her if she streamed regularly during that timeslot. She barely streamed anything from October 2022 to July 2023. Then she started spamming buff games and collabs (Mumei) she never did 1-2 weeks prior to advent debut, overlapped them almost every day for 2 weeks then. Everyone knew she was going to stream something the following day.
Then disappeared again once the debut buff period was over,came back for the anniversary, Cover and costume then disappeared again. Her intentions where clear: stopping chumbuds from jumping ships and keeping that stream of membership money flowing into her account

It’s become COMMONPLACE for vtubers to have complete representation in the Japanese market, with them being sponsored by the biggest companies in all of Japan and having an entire demographic go rabid for them, purchasing all their merch and consuming their content religiously. It’s a fucking standard there anon, so it doesn’t matter if people overlap because the fanbase for vtubers is so wide and vast and has extreme high tolerance that anyone can succeed in that field with how fans operate there.

You can’t say the same for the English market. It’s not some easily achievable thing to succeed in. Fleshtubers dominate the world, vtubers are considered beyond cringe, fans of them even more cringe, you’re thougut of as the lowest of the low. The entire genre of vtubing has become absurdly niche and the idea of being a fan would already raise eyebrows. So yes, when you already have a smaller community that gets judged to start with, and you have your biggest vtubers overlap newbies who’re trying to breathe life into your branch and then fuck off the MOMENT their beginning week buffs fade, it’s pretty fucking annoying and downright bullshit.

I'm sorry sisters but no amount of astroturfing will convince me that Advent was a flop. From a fan perspective HoloEN desperately needed some fresh blood to cover the massive amount of dead hours they had and work towards building a consistent box in the style of their JP senpai. And Advent is a great step in that direction.
FWMC and Bijou are both great hires and a good choice for anyone that wants a consistent Hololive CGDCT experience. Shiori found her niche and has been working on building a strong core fanbase since day 1. Nerissa is obviously inexperienced which means she has a lot of potential to grow, her music is also performing pretty well so far.
Numberwise? They are doing okay and helped reverse a bit the downwards trend of HoloEN who has been on an all time low for the past year and a half while cementing the branch as the strongest Vtuber group in the west.
Them going viral and bringing a new golden age for western Vtubing would've been cool but extremely unlikely.
