Gen 3 (plus coco, minus flare) arrived at a perfect time when hololive had enough to support a large scale expansion but is not overbloated with talents yet. Plus Covid is just around the corner to boost them.

>less struggle for survival, less dedicated fans

Matsuri and Fubuki only got popular through clips and meme song covers respectively. They dont pick a fight with their fans but that form of popularity is short-lived. GFE had longer staying power and Gen 3 did just that.

Unironically this, if they did not graduate rushia. She would be ever expanding her giant superchat cesspool. She perfected GFE in a way that she probably has the most loyal fanbase even if she make a few mistakes here and there. If she wasn't terminated at all I really doubt she would go crazy menhera and actually stay one of the biggest hololive today. Gen 3 at it's peak (which was probably coco's time) is unstoppable, the complete package. Especially with rushia, marine, and pekora at the helm. I still think up until this day that rushia's termination was an overall bad move on their part, she can easily pull out a dogeza and say sorry to the affected chuubas and then never do it again. She wouldn't need the complete breakdown that she is today, her personality is easily one of the most entertaining in hololive
