I really doubt there is any consensus about kawaii being a black company. Graduating an entire generation without actual graduation streams (and gen 3 signalled that they wanted them) definitely hurt their reputation a bit, but both parties kept silent afterwards, so it is unlikely to be something truly egregious or criminal - not even rumours. There were no "corpo hate" or "being indie is the best" messages ala Sayu from V-dere either.
Any new "recruits" without knowledge of the specifics should probably be on guard from both management and previous gens, but that's a good idea in general anyways.
