To be fair, if we're talking about a Hololive streamer, we're already talking about the #1 vtuber agency who have higher popularity than a LOT of IRL idols. At that point, they already reach the top 0.1% or 0.001% of streamers, so it's not exactly unrealistic for them to aim for a top top tier guy along those lines. The difference is that most viewers are NOT famous/successful individuals at the top of their fields, while their oshi is (barring the few who actually have a chance at grooming their 1-2views).

I've followed Fauna since her PL days, so I know Fauna isn't the right target to gosling. I've swayed a bit between sapling and anti, but ultimately she's just not the right streamer for me, although I'll still tune in casually on occasion. I don't really do GFE, and I stick to clips specifically so I don't get super attached to any of the girls, and I fit into that bunch too, somewhat. I'm currently in a sort of weird limbo on what to do with my life, since the advice of "just get out there" kind of fell flat. With the kind of powerlevel I have there's no way in hell I'd get along with anyone in the city I"m in the burbs to, nor do I want to spend the time and money to commute in to that crime ridden shit hole every week, on the offchance I find someone decent in there. At that point I think it would be a genuinely better investment to just blow the money on lottery tickets I would have spent otherwise, because it's like trying to multiply zero by stuff.

I spent literally like half a year bringing my setup to my fighting game locals, and increasingly making it better and better, people even played on it, I became acquainted with one dude, and people actually liked it. I stopped showing up, a few weeks ago, after getting tired of falling further and further behind everyone in skill, and having to deal with that shit FGC do, that even Joel recognizes, where platinum through master rank players never go easy on anyone, even if I'm just a fucking Silver. I tend to think about what I can provide in terms of equal exchange: if I'm a 7 and want to date a 9 or 10, I need to equalize that exchange somehow. Either I provide additional value (wealth, success, maybe emotional support/compatability), or she has reduced value in some way (generally the damaged menhera kind), perhaps both. Ultimately I know that I don't have the emotional capacity and effort to deal with all her trauma, so the easiest route is to offer wealth/success of some kind. Sure, I could instead accept looksmatch or below and thus offer positive value in the opposite direction/find someone of equal wealth, but quite frankly money holds little value once you have reached retirement tier.

In terms of Fauna, I guess I ultimately feel like she embodies much of the mediocrity of Council as a whole and me becoming rather disappointed by the company as a whole. If you're struggling to go through your backlog, and have as much cash as you do, I'd rec getting a steam deck. Even before I had it, and the retro handhelds before that, I've admittedly always been gaming a lot, but the Deck is seriously fucking great for getting through your backlog. As long as you're not expecting to play modern shit requiring a GPU better than a 1060, the thing lets you play just about anything, and control it well too. The portability is nice, too, acted as the setup I mentioned in my other post, for example.

I know what you mean, even had a large chunk of time where I just sat in my room watching anime all day every day, not even taking breaks to shitpost or do literally anything else.
I guess I never thought about it, but my choice in games, hobbies, and projects, have probably played an immense role in keeping me sane. I enjoy difficult games, though less than I used to as a teenager, or at least games that require I think a lot. My main hobby outside of gaming, since that's just kind of something I've always done/do, right now would be music, and it takes a ton of effort with how I'm practicing/learning. The hobbies I used to have, and want to get back into (reading and drawing), take a lot of focus to do even at a casual level, especially the latter since you can't really multitask when doing so. And my project is making a game, and it requires I actually consistently study programming.

I've got other stuff I do, too, but if nothing else, that might be what you're lacking in your life, going by what you said. Obviously don't just copy what I'm doing, what I mean is you sound like you could use some actually challenging stuff in your life. I dunno, try to solve a rubiks cube or something?

During that period, we'll have decades of economic stagnation (akin to Japan's lost decades), a complete collapse in the Social Security Ponzi scheme/Medicare that will ultimately be solved by government monetary printing or restructuring, and likely a lot of political strife from politicians cutting benefits and old people rioting (have you seen how many riots there have been in France/China/Russia whenever raising retirement age comes up?). I would also suggest looking into similar FIRE communities and seeing what they have to say about keeping busy/finding purpose. We have such a small and rare first world problem that all we can expect is general anger and disdain from the general population that has much bigger problems around survival. JP has at least 10-12 talents catering to various anime girl and comedy/entertainment niches to watch during primetime, and so I've never really bothered to watch any of the ENs. I did watch Holotalk though, and the Mythbreakers series which started off nicely.
