Been vtubing for about 5 months now with a male avatar (masculine design, similar to Belmond Banderas). Since there are very few in the EN scene, what would be some suggestions for the bros in the scene.

Either aim for a female demographic or for a male demographic. Dont aim for both.

There are too basic approaches :
1) You either go bishonen with yaoi undertones for fujos (i.e. Kanae) or;
2) You aim to become your male viewers best buddies/brothers (Yashiro, Roberu).
If, and that's a big IF, you have something like Banderas' extremely deep and manly voice, you may attract the two demographics.
Also, it helps if you're really fucking good at something that can be done on stream (playing a certain game, singing, etc.).

hes popular among both men and women. one of the reasons is his voice is very similar to otsuka akio. idk about the voice actor of snake in english but if you have a similar voice and act like a super kind guy like belmond you can be popular. its how doujin stuff works

Dont have a scrawny voice, but I've got a slightly more nasal baritone when I speak relaxed. Working with a vocal coach not on that and got a better mic to help that.

Bros, I want to use a light voice if I start. I want to make videos anyway, so it'd have a use. I have a mostly deep Southern drawl, could you recommend me some good guides to get it high pitched? I want anime girl/shota levels

It's actually a boy.
The traps are actually noticeable.
The shoulders are wider than the hips.
There's no shading on the chest.
The shirt pink reflection makes it seem like the body is curved but as shown by the side the top is flat.
For the proportions to be abit more accurately the legs should be shortened by half a head and the neck should be a bit thicker, but as far as the "boy" part of femboy drawings it's better than the average.

Honestly I think it's impossible for a male EN vtuber to ever attract a significant audience, unless they were born with godlike charisma. In which case they never needed the vtuber avatar in the first place.
Another possibility I thought about is pandering to Japanese fujoshis but I have no idea how you could pull that off without being fluent in Japanese, which would still leave you with the problem of attracting your first few fujoshi fans.

I dunno about that. After seeing a few male ENVtubers that hit partner, such as xKittyMcPancakes, there's a path.

This. The biggest male vtubers just use a normal voice. The moe trap boys are a dime a dozen and trying to fill a niche that's already full. If anything, be different and play up your southern drawl.

I always say this in these threads as a tip to male vtubers (and as one). Just be a likeable person, like seriously. I know a lot of you have the most rubbish personalities so this honestly won't help you, but if you can even PRETEND to not be a weird asshole you'll go far.

Most of the people you network with will be women and you need to be able to talk to them like normal human beings. Besides that, making content however you're able to is really all you need to do. There's no "trick" to being a male v-tuber unless you're just doing fujo-bait ASMR or something. Just be a likeable guy and not an awkward weeb. You'll be surprised by how far you go.

Trust me, fake it til you make it. I recommend trying out VRChat, even if you're only in desktop. If you can avoid the weirdo trannies it's absolutely helped improve people's social skills.
