Magitek doesn't really exist no, this is modern day with supernatural shit going on.
Also witnessing Supernal magic (what Mages do) causes the shard of the Abyss (aborted universes of anti-reality and lies) that's in the soul of every single human without a Supernatural Merit to mind rape you.
(Getting Unseen Sense is probably enough to remove the shard thankfully)

Demon the Descent has some stuff like magitek but mortals can't really understand it, exposure to it is bad for them and it will also likely get them noticed by the God-Machine. This is not a good thing at all.

Mage is the top powerlevels splat and magic is outrageously powerful in WoD, think nasuverse True Magic. It's not really something you give to a player in Hunter, even a single dot.

Due to the way magic actually works, machines are better at handling it where it would matter, because they aren't conscious. The guys who build such machines are basically the bad guys of Mage though.

Even at 3 they can fuck you up badly. Death 3 lets you toss people into Twilight via Ghost Gate which is more or less certain death for a mortal, or rip out a Sleeper's soul.
Furthermore Space 2's Scrying let you spell-snipe peeps who are almost always helpless against it, even if you're in another plane.

In one of my mixed games the group's Mage was able to paralyze four vamps with shadows long enough for us to kill them all. They're not all-powerful sure, but they have a lot more flexibility than any other splat and barely any non-Mage can defend against scry-sniping.

Also you could Ghost Gate a vamp into Twilight and they would have a very hard time getting out.

Also true, at 3 using just spells wouldn't work against anyone. But a Mage that allows themself to be in this situation deserves to die anyway. No Mage would approach a fight like this, so they would need to be surprised.

You need 2 dots and spend reach to do anything like Dominate 1. Also in 2e it's a very easy roll no mortal should be able to resist and it inflicts a condition so no limits to the number of people.

Kiara and Gura are the better of the four, Ina is alright but putting so much into Driving was pointless, Yuul'll be useless in a fight. Ame is all over the place and with only dots in Brawl will be limited to punching things that can punch a thousand times harder than her.
As other anon said they don't need that much damn Crafting. Only one of them can use guns without a penalty I think which might be a problem.

Also they're all using Flaws which makes me wince a little (they were explicitly an optional rule altogether and 2E got rid of them entirely) but they're largely a lot better than I expected.

Many DMs don't even use errata, and Mori definitely doesn't since the car didn't even hurt the Hook (which is immune to regular bashing damage)
More than a few creatures could easily dodge out of a car's path, mind control Yuul to hit the breaks, disable the car, or even cancel it's inertia. Even if it does work, this usually means the car is out of action.
Also Uratha are rarely alone and could very feasibly in the right form stop a car with their hands.

Nothing inherently so, there's stuff that acts as a bane to certain beings (cold iron) but otherwise doesn't do anything special.

You can get soulsteel out of the Underworld but going into the Underworld is a fantastically bad idea if you're a mortal. There's also a Dead Dominion where ghosts are forged into mecha and battle bots shit for endless arena fights which has superpowerful metal but if you try to take anything all those ghost-robots will attempt to shove a stake driver up your ass and you will never be allowed back in.

I'm not the biggest World Of Darkness lore buff, but I'm pretty sure player characters in Hunter The Vigil are supposed to be human, right?
Amelia described her character as goblin-like human with a sickly green-hue to his skin, not as being an actual goblin, right?
Also goblins in WoD are Fae creatures. At best you could say Watoto got his goblin-like appearance by spending some time in Arcadia, which made him into a changeling. But there's no mention of that, and it's highly unlikely since there's already another WoD TTRPG game specifically for Changeling characters. Atleast that's what I assume Changeling The Lost is, isn't it?

Depends on the edition. In OWoD, what's going on is that literally everyone's a reality warper, so when you try to cast fireball, everyone else goes "but you can't do that!" and attempts to reality-warp you back, but since you know how to do it and they don't, you just get paradox. In Chronicles (which is supposedly what Mori's using) you draw down platonic ideals into the real world form the Supernal Realms, and attempt to rewrite reality. The shards of unreality infecting human souls don't like it when they notice it, and lash out, forcing you to either take some bashing damage or allow the abyss to expand its influence into the real world.

I'd wager that it's an abandoned mage-mine, considering that the ore in there transitioned under water from iron to bronze to gold and so on. I think Mori mentioned it in passing that it hasn't been really used in over 20 years, which would be before Scout was born. I'm assuming, on a whim, that Ma and Pa moved onto the farm shortly before the birth of Scout and they both found out about the mine to keep their finances up. I'm guessing since the mine is essentially a bunch of flesh and likely souls fused together into a collective intelligence, it's the work of a rogue mage who wanted a resource of Perfected Metals to use. Since the mage either left or might have even fallen prey to it (probably given to the fact that meat-mine became sentient), it's probably a novel abomination or even a pseudo-Promethean of sorts.

I was already optimistic about Gura, but that was just great. I doubt any Consilium would let something like this just lie there untouched if it's really shitting out Perfected Metals for the mere cost of human sacrifice - that anyone can perform, mind you. It's too massive to be unknown and arguably far too valuable if found. The metal also doesn't fit the description of Perfected Metals, it wouldn't just be "good metal" - they look different and the properties it exhibits are clearly supernatural, like sharpened siderite flat out ignoring Durability. They also can't be alloyed with normal metal, something that a metalworker like Scout would have noticed. It's more likely an Abyssal Entity or something from the Spirit flying under the radar.

That's not how they work. Either they're created spontaneously/accidentally by Pyros, or a Progenitor manages to subconsciously steal some of the Divine Fire from the Principle and shove them into a corpse, a stitched together corpse, or some sort of golem. A "proto-Promethean" is a very unlikely concept, the Pyros would just go elsewhere if the attempt failed.

This, too. There's a reason the WOD system is literally called the Storyteller System. The story is king over 'realism', in-character or not. Players and the Storyteller are supposed to work together to get the best collaborative story out of it, even if it means making convenient intuitive leaps at times which would make the story flow better, or playing a character suboptimally. Every 'convenient' benefit of circumstance or leap of logic can be paid back to the player at another point by the Storyteller if she wishes to.

anyone else lowkey worried the group campaign won't be this good? Ame's gonna be completely silent, Ina's gonna be hella passive. Gura and Kiara are gonna take up most of the air time, split between Calli's story telling and narrating.

i've really loved these tutorial sessions just in pairs because we really got see how each of them play their characters. but iono how well that'll translate to a full group session.
