NTA, but at least here in the west the popularity of cultivation fics is primarily from the setting being both weird and foreign while allowing for some absolutely chuuni martial arts/magic shit to get taken seriously. While also having the great benefit of the language barrier making only the better works (relatively) in it get through since it's effectively the Chinese web novel equivalent of the generic Isekai setting which means there are hundreds of them being produced by the heap load onto their web novel mills. Honestly, just pick one of the conventional reccomendations people give out and see if it vibes with you. (By conventional I of course mean a translated Chinese web novel that isn't named Reverend Insanity since that one's a complete oddball in the genre.)
Anyway, this is a massive fucking derail. Especially since the genre isn't really one that fits any of the chuubas I like.

The fic's kind of in that weird middle ground of smut where there's not enough setup to really make the smut the payoff, but also too much setup to really just ignore it and go full coombrain focus on the milking description.
Don't really know why this fic isn't doing it for me, maybe it's just because I don't care much for the dynamic between Marine and Lamy. It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish with a story, your style and your preferences. People talk about how long a smut scene has to be to accomodate readers jerking off to it sometimes, but that's also highly variable across fics and readers.
To me, the structure of a smut scene is the more important aspect. There should be buildup followed by a hot moment (once or multiple times), with the biggest climax at the end to accomodate the reader's own climax.

I'm not sure if anyone still cares (or shit, even knows) about the bygone echo that is Holocalypse these days, but I'm making this post to let the thread know I'll be taking it down for a while. Not indefinitely, it'll return, but I'll be giving it a major overhaul by rewriting all the chapters and every side bit (barring the crossover with Holofan, probably). I've been trying to work on part 7 for a year now, but every time I opened the document I would glance over parts 1-6 and lose all motivation to build off of that utter dogshit, which is why I'm giving the entire series a remake. To me, this was the only way to continue Holocalypse.

I'll be bringing the writing quality up to my current standards, removing some of the cringe, providing more worldbuilding, adding some more character interactions and writing a handful of new events. It'll follow the same narrative, but will be like a new story if all goes well since I'll be adding a lot that wasn't in the original. I won't be retconning anything major (though I really wish I could) so if there happens to be someone who still remembers the events of 1-6, they can jump straight into part 7 when its released, though reading the revamped version might provide a better experience. If there's any new readers here, hopefully this will give them a chance to give it a go too, since the story will actually have somewhat passable prose.

I've already got a lot of WIPs in the queue so they'll have to unfortunately be pushed even further back (unless I can work on them simultaneously), but I'm not willing to leave my first ever series behind to rot. In fact, I'm a little excited to get to work. I hope you guys can look forward to

Well, you could have some Sora pov in there either as something of an interlude in between each chapter so she's still a part of the story (and her finding out she's okay with this is foreshadowed) or as another pov woven in there alongside Okayu with the focus being on it being kind of a love triangle (perhaps with some hints that'll make the reveal at the end work better).

Doesn't work for me. I had a whole scene planned around Sora walking in on you mating pressing Okayu.
See, the events are more or less like this

>Friendship with Okayu gets stronger, she brings you over to have some fun

It is already, innately, a love triangle. I thought of making Sora a childhood friend as well, sort of like a bygone crush that you never forget about. Then the issue would just be how do I make (you) date Sora and Okayu feel that she lost somebody.

Ironically no. I had a life changing experience a few months ago where a girl accidentally farted during sex and that changed me forever.
