And that's fair, I believe in that design philosophy myself. A mech with 4 different weapons(most NPC AC in the game are like this) is likely a clusterfuck that doesn't excel at anything. Let mech have 2 pairs of weapons that achieve some goal extremely well. 2 shotguns + 2 needles/songbirds is super simple and meta as fuck but it is amazingly good at what it does. You can just make different things besides that one setup. She made a really neat laser one for Michigan actually and discarded another great one with flamethrowers because she couldn't utilize it well on first try which is a shame because it's absurdly good for that mission, you save so much ammo it's absurd. I tested it after seeing it on stream. It's fun to switch around every now and then because doing every mission in the same stale setup gets boring by NG++.
