I was thinking about the Female MC discussion from last thread. I think the problem with female main characters is like half thread stigma, and half bias from our fandom. Since it seems like the only acceptable MCs even to our Fu/yumejo fic writing 'cousins' on ao3 is a reader insert or an actual chuuba.
Which means for our particular brand of chuuba fic a female MC is kind of locked to either be a hidden identity (you were actually Ame the entire time) type or to just have it be chuuba (in a traditional first/third person perspective fic). Like yeah I could see a female OC but you're kind of hit by the double whammy of 'why isn't this a chuuba?'' , and 'why should I read a fic with an OC main character?'' Maybe there's a concept out there that can use a Fem OC and justify it (Tower of Tattle managed to use one pretty well.), but I think concepts like those are going to be few and far between.

see i disagree. I used to be the kind of guy who reads Fanfiction just to self insert and experience wish fullfillment and all of that jazz until there was this interesting fanfic of Pokemon emerald where the main character was a girl. It was a really interesting read and that ultimately made me understand that girl POV works in multiple things, even from a fetish aspect.
Sure i can write myself towering over a girl as i plap her. But what if the PoV was from the girl? how hot is to imagine what's going through a girl's head as they get a mind-breakind dicking.
Ocs give the bonus idea of customizing your waifu/ character and writing those type stories.

I do agree, however, that thread bias is a bit too much, and one of the reasons i never wrote something similar was thanks to the hate yuri gets here from some malignant retards.

Anyway, all im saying is that i want to write a comedy where (you) get turned into a girl (not by magic, shion fucked up her skill tree and didnt unlock change sex) by holox.
The reason is because you keep calling Torterra dumb names and treating her as a dork, and HoloX had enough of this.
The comedy would be that everytime you have an encounter with Towa, it shifts completely your pov to think Towa is the coolest and sexiest person in the world, before you manage to snap.
Hell, i'd love to have a scene where you go "I WILL NEVER SUBMIT TO THE TOWA" only for a jumpcut of you Shrieking and fangirling over towa in a concert

Are you taking about The Question? Calling that “the hate yuri gets here” is a bit excessive. The author got shat on for being a /u/ schizo who was fully convinced Fubuki and Mio were a real couple. I don’t think it was deserved mind you (he was harmless after all), but nobody had any problems with the genre itself. Pavonashi Maldives did rather well, so you can look to that if you want to write yuri that the thread might enjoy.

I've been chewing on a story idea, I think at least partially inspired by a prompt/discussion from here, where Shion and (You) meet at magical university through being a friend of a friend of your girlfriend, and strike up an odd friendship that you two keep up. Around six months later your girlfriend breaks up with you, and after a week Shion takes you to a bar to break you out of your pity party. finished reading Our Cures, pretty damn good. good internal character struggles and monologues, and when the sex finally happened it was appropriately powerful. the banter was great too, though the constant "slut/virgin" insults wore thin as the story progressed. got a little depressed comparing it to my suisex, but HJanon reminded me that it and my story aren't the same thing and shouldn't try comparing them as if they were the same.
