Discovering 1-2 view streamers and watching them grow until they either explode in popularity or get picked up by a corpo is a great part of the journey. My Oshi joined Hololive and I'm happy for their immediat success and gobs of money to make their life more comfortable. While it's true that the streams will never be as comfy and personal as they used to be, once things calm down it'll go back to semi-normal.

Absolutely.The longer they stay in one corpo (or as an indie), the more they are shaped by it. For all I know she'd be a different person altogether. Let's take Gura as an example. Do you really think she'd be avoiding males if she was in Vshojo considering her past? Or that Mori would have released the same amount of music if she was in Nijisanji considering that they own the rights to all of the music their talents release? That alone has caused some of their talents to graduate or abandon music goals altogether. Do you think that most talents from small corpos would still be putting the same daily effort into streaming if they had holo-tier numbers and money instead of becoming lazy over time, especially on the EN side? Can you see Marine being in Neoporte or VSPO spamming Apex? Heck, some talents do 180 flip when they join/leave a corpo so you can bet your ass most vtubers would feel very different if they debuted under different circumstances.

Hololive is one of the EXTREMELY rare groups where the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
In other streamer groups, most of the audience is brought by big streamers, with the smaller ones leeching off their success, and the entire group will collapse if one or two of the big creators leave.
The Hololive senpais grinded extremely hard to get themselves a brand that surpassed the individual - something that they were OK with, due to the fact that management was generally good to them. And in some cases AWESOME to them.

That said, Hololive isn't exactly a seal of quality, Mel, Roboco, Mori, Kronii etc. exist. But 90% of the time, their talents are good at something or the other, and gel with each other quite well.
It won't be 100% chemistry all the time, but because of that none of them will ever HATE each other either.
And at least the JP ones can keep their shit professional, solve problems internally and not sperg out as much (I don't watch much of EN, but they seem to be following this trend now with Advent).

Basically, Hololive is comfortable to watch.

What's even dumber is that depending on their Oshi's personal drive, they will have more oppertunity to stream because they might not need to have a part time job on the side. FuwaMoco went from 2-3 streams a week to having something going on every day because they didn't have to run another side-gig to make ends meet.
This kind of only applies to Hololive for the EN side of things, but when I got to a Hololive girls stream, I kind of know what I'm going to get. There'll be some personal flavor, different levels of keyfab played, etc, but I know I will get the idol side of stuff no matter what, and that's a bit of a good sell to me.

I guess the other factor is that I'm already familiar with the Hololive members and would want to see new members collab with them. Being in another corpo would mean the collabs are going to be with a bunch of other vtubers I'm probably unfamiliar with. You know. You have a good point. I think for most people it has more to do with the type of content vtubers are doing essentially. Live streaming is fun when it's live. Manga/anime and music can be enjoyed your way and on your own time. So being brand loyal in this case has more to do with free time and how much entertainment someone can get out of it while watching a stream. Hololive just has more to offer. Bigger events, large diverse cast, iconic music and always on like a cable channel so people know when to show up. It's hard to breakthrough something that established.
