Note that until Friday on this schedule Vesper was acting normal and doing his streams. He was supposed to meet Magni over the weekend so what happened. Most likely scenario is Magni was already at this point pushing for a contract renegotiation with Cover and he knew that he was unlikely to get what he wanted. He was already pretty active on his past life 6 months ago so he already had a backup plan to quit if he didn't get a better contract.

Vesper while unhappy with the current contract was likely at this point still planning on signing but when they talked about it and he found out that Magni was likely to choose graduation he changed his mind because Magni was his friend and he knew he would enjoy streaming a lot less without Magni.

Monday they likely both informed Cover of their decision to withdraw which likely caused the negotiation to reset to try to prevent both talents from leaving. What is most suspicious is the timing since redesigns are a huge deal in hololive/holostars. Talents usually have to fight 2 to 3 years to get a new model and that is only if Cover agrees. At that point there's just no reason to be in a corpo, so he might as well do what he was doing as Vesper but as an indie instead.
