That was a fun event overall. If you don't have the time to watch the whole thing, I'd recommend at least watching the last hour or so of the first stream, right after the quiz is over. That's when A-chan took over and FBK stopped being the MC, so you get to see her move around and be cute rather than her professional mode from that point onwards. The after-party thing ended up being really short, it was just them having a laid-back over their own summer for like half an hour. I hope they won't continue to do this with the premium thing, that was pretty annoying.

In case you are serious, Cover would 100% do much worse at this than ZAN or SPWN. Remember the second protolive had major issues and that likely had a fraction of the amount of people trying to get in via Holoearth, especially since they had a paid stream as a backup and a small chunk probably opted for that out of the gate.
Scaling is a hard issue to solve since it's not easy doing load testing for this kind of thing. They would need to try hosting a free event on their service to get a feel for it, and that would be a fairly expensive test. They would also need to be repeat that a couple of times before they get something somewhat stable.

Though I will say, since the ZAN error shows an nginx page, we can assume at least the landing page is self-hosted and not using some cloud service provider. As much as I hate the cloud, this kind of service is one of the things that actually benefit from it rather than it just being pointless. The problem being it would likely cost much more than just having a central server for landing and then a load-balancer in front of VPSes for the actual streaming.

I find it kind of interesting how most members apologized for the live getting postponed fubuki instead thanked people for taking time out of their day to watch them and for their support. I'd imagine for the other's it's common courtesy but it wasn't their fault at all so they shouldn't need to apologize, thought it was a nice gesture by fubuki to try and raise spirits a bit. I hate to break it to you, but yes, the performance portions are almost certainly pre-recorded. The singing absolutely is, almost none of them likely have the ability to sing and dance at the same time without it noticeably affecting their singing. You can also often hear major differences in mic quality between the singing and MC sections of these lives. Some people think the dancing might still be live, but I am skeptical of that too given they would (otherwise needlessly) pop the talents in and out between MC and performance parts during the last two Fes.
It's been like this since at least near the end of 2020 or start of 2021. Stuff before that was mostly live, and often more scuffed, but also very fun. Mio's 2020 birthday cake incident would not have happened if it were pre-recorded, for instance.

Ah, that's unfortunate but I get it makes for a better product without fuckups. I thought the fes's would at least be live but again get why they're not. Guess that's what makes sololives a lot more intriguing for people and the talents. That also makes this a lot more of a shitshow if they weren't being charitable about it. Imagine spending that much time recording for this big concert only to have it pushed back indefinitely for who knows when. Cover lost out on a good amount of money but this was a damn good PR move for both fans and the talents.

Anyway, now that I'm properly awake I have to say this was the best possible solution, even if it sucks for people in my time zone (glad I woke up in time). Giving refunds and showing the live to everyone for free as a sign of goodwill is both a very good way to raise morale after yesterday's disaster and a good opportunity to advertise these lives to people that wouldn't usually buy a ticket. They would have never found another day where everyone has time, they can't hold half of the summer live in November or anything. Anyway, it's starting, let's enjoy both lives today, friends! I just hope that the sever survives day two.

That was pretty good. I still haven't listened to Shoutai all that often but having now seen itt "live", it's growing on me despite being a bit different from their usual songs. Overall, I enjoyed her performances a lot on both days. A bit unfortunate that she didn't get to be in the MC parts on either days, but it is to be expected with the amount of members involved in this.
