Still, they're not really that hard. The first pair's difference is actually what made me remember them, the second pair can be figured by the reading of the right radical and the last pair can be remembered the same way the first one has been. Go with a "crow is less than a bird" mnemonic or something. It's not that hard.
I'd say the similarities make it easier, because knowing the difference makes you remember them.

It's completely multiple choice and leans pretty heavily on kanji knowledge
It's composed of three parts, a vocabulary section (more a kanji test), a reading comprehension section (can usually gloss the meaning of words you don't know if you know what the kanji means), and a listening comprehension section (just watch vtubers for practice lmao)
If you're good at test taking or are a chink, you can usually wing a pass

I'm a Japanese native. Their accent/intonation is nearly perfect for Japanese and there's no strange grammatical mistake. It doesn't sound like JSL Japanese. Better and clearer than Kiara or Bae. If they have a problem with Japanese it's probably a vocabulary and kanji skills.

The best Japanese speaking EN vtuber is Petra from Niji EN. Her Japanese vocabulary is over the top and her kanji skills are no different from Japanese since she already knows tons of kun and on yomis so she can instantly fix or learn a yomi even if she encounters a new kanji idiom/word but I won't compare an EN vtuber with her.
