I want to ask /vt/ a few questions, to get a better understanding of the industry and why people watch chuubas.
>are you currently in a romantic relationship?
>if not, have you ever been in a romantic relationship?
>how many clips do you watch in any given day
>how many hours of chuuba streams do you watch/listen to, per week?
>do you have an oshi?
>how many of your watch-hours are of said oshi?
and lastly
>in your own words, please describe why you watch chuuba streams
>if you have an oshi, in your own words, please describe why, and why that specific chuuba

These are all asked in earnest, so please use the fact we're all anonymous to answer in earnest as well.
Thank you, and have a nice day

She's fun, funny, and can make even watching paint dry and enjoyable experience. She's a passionate singer and I enjoy her songs. She also went through hell to keep her dreams alive, and still does her best everyday to raise up vtubing as a whole. It's hard not to be inspired by her, and want to support her however I can.

Entertainment. For me, I used to be huge into anime, I don't watch it often anymore. I consider vtubers to be like another form of SoL/cute girls doing cute things. Also good JP practice.
>if you have an oshi, in your own words, please describe why, and why that specific chuuba
Miko is just fucking cute, adorable, funny - and she worked hard and went through a lot to get where she is. Suisei simiarly had a rough start and put in work to achieve success. Suisei is also cute and dorky as fuck beside being (in my opinion) the best singer and musician of all hololive.

I like the distance and artifice of a chuuba stream, which is why I watch them instead of fleshies. She can show me exactly what part of she wants to show me and it can be as real or fake, exaggerated or idealized as she likes.
>if you have an oshi, in your own words, please describe why, and why that specific chuuba
I'm there to support her growth and watch over her as she climbs the ladder, same reason I follow idols. I can't say why that one specifically, its not an intellectual decision that you make, its emotive.

Mild interest in JP culture and use them for a wide variety of listening reps, think it's an interesting direction for art/tech to take, see a lot of people/characters I'd never meet the likes of irl, and I just find kinda derpy partially-scripted entertainment a bit better than completely scripted TV or movies.
>if you have an oshi, in your own words, please describe why, and why that specific chuuba
I didn't for years, but I started giving them more attention after their debut character calmed down and they grew on me as I realized they have a lot of qualities I want for myself. Unitychad that loves vtubing, is a pro that can seemingly fill in any role asked of them, and is disgustingly sweet and caring to their coworkers (and likely their personal friends) to the point that I want them to feel that type of support as well- I've always wanted to be someone reliable enough that even strong (or seemingly-strong) people feel like they aren't so alone.

Vtubing and its surrounding culture act as a restraining device limiting womens ability to use their real bodies to market their streams to men. I have a very strong disgust for the kinds of women that choose to market themselves in that way. I also do not get along with the men who do enjoy such things. "Vtuber" is the best way for me to filter out most such people from my view. Furthermore, I am greatly put off by facecams on streams or videos, but vtuber models are generally very tolerable to me.

Just the right voice that will take you to dream land, hot model, actually plays games well, streams consistently. The usual requirements for being a top tier vtuber.

Depending on the mood, sometimes it's 1 or 2, but usually 0.
>how many hours of chuuba streams do you watch/listen to, per week?
Again, depending on my mood. I rarely watch streams because the VTubers I find interesting often stream at hours that are unavailable to me. Sometimes I binge-watch VODs of a single streamer; other times, I don't watch VTubers at all. So, my weekly viewing of VODs can range anywhere between 0 and 35 hours, though it is usually on the lower side of that range.
>do you have an oshi?
I am oshi-less and not sure yet if the VTuber I'm currently binge-watching will be my oshi (Yet, I feel she has come closest to becoming one).

I use it as a poor replacement for having friends of some sort. I tried not to get attached to the Vtuber I watched, but I got too emotionally invested. Right now I'm getting back into school so I can screw my head on straight.
>Why did you watch your oshi?
I watched them because they were a very cynical and realistic voice in the Vtuber sphere. They've seen and experienced the best and worst of the Vtuber community. They've moved on with their life and have become a better person, so I'm trying to do the same. If you want the name here: PFO2QFAzPbK2SbBIPbS3PFA1

I was already well versed in otaku culture and I watched regular streamers before vtubers became commonplace, it was almost inevitable that I started watching vtubers. I stayed because I found an oshi and I like the concept of vtubing (design, persona, certain idol aspects like rooting for your oshi and watching her grow).
>if you have an oshi, in your own words, please describe why, and why that specific chuuba
She's pretty unique in the scene, works hard every day for providing good and varied content, she's hungry for our love and gives it back tenfold, she's extremely relatable to me, streams good times for me, every stream has me keeling from laughter one way or another, provides us fans with updates and BTS insight constantly, opinionated but reasonable, very talkative and lives with the opportunity that she was given and works hard for her corpo, always open to collabing and organizing them, appearing in corpo events and promotions. As a bonus, her roommate is just my type as well. I could also bring up her design, but I could have fallen for her despite of that since vtubers are designed to be attractive and I'm not picky in terms of appearances like chest size, height, hair color, motifs, etc.
TL;DR: she's perfect for me.

>how many hours of chuuba streams do you watch/listen to, per week?
at least 15 hours
>do you have an oshi?
yes
>how many of your watch-hours are of said oshi?
see Q4
>and lastly
>in your own words, please describe why you watch chuuba streams
I honestly am bored with vtubers. I really only watch one because she's quite unique in this era of copying whatever Hololive or Nijisanji is doing. She actually reminds me of pre-2020 vtubing because of how raw and crass she is, without relying in ethottery most vtubers in twitch are doing
>if you have an oshi, in your own words, please describe why, and why that specific chuuba
I've followed her since the 2view days. Now she's the only chuub I watch and support. She's relatable and experienced the same struggles I'm currently stuck right now. I've never really resonated with a chuuba outside of my oshi.

She's cute and I love her and I want to be part of her life even if it's only through the screen. I also avatarfag with her and want to be able to answer questions about her
