In general aim for high school settings without too much fantasy or niche topic focuses.

Unless you mean VNs in general and not JP practice, then fate/stay night is safe choice which will give you more insight into 4chan culture than anything else, on top of being a good read in general I still love it after reading a bunch of acclaimed VNs, don't care about elitists. I think Rewrite could be the comfiest introduction to key titles, it's a lot less complex than Clannad while not being ancient. Aokana is a quite modern VN (high resolution etc.) that's very easy on the newcomers.

Anything works, unironically, just don't be afraid of not knowing anything at all, and then you cant be hurt. With reading you will be looking up words anyways so basically dont worry to much and if you see the same word multiple times just start focusing on memorizing words like that which you see frequently, and don't think to hard about the words you have only come across once so far. Basically if you go "oh i have seen this a few times but i still can't remember!!!" its a sign to focus on that word.
For anime its basically the same, hear something a lot, try to remember it, I will say anime with context clues in the show can help a lot. I think a super easy one would be something like Card Captor Sakura. Its suuuper simple. I can actually understand like 80-90% of this and my japanese is still shit. But just remember comprehension is not even remotely important at beginner levels, rather accepting incomprehension is arguably the most important factor, because if you can't do that, you will never make it(its a bad cycle of frustration).
I spent many months looking at moving pictures understanding only a fraction of it, which if you think about it, in the end, its just like being a child. Just remember to make sure you do your daily study session (like anki) as I think it speeds up the process a LOT.
If you really want some simplish stuff this site can help give you an idea of some media's difficulty level in terms of how many words/unique words/etc beforehand.

The problem with starting with gateway VN's like Danganronpa, Zero Escape series and the Science Adventure series is that they set the bar too high - moving onto the lesser known stuff feels like a downgrade in everything from art to storytelling. I liked Muv-Luv, Raging Loop, Ever17 etc - those are arguably still gateway ones though. I haven't been able to match the experience of that first Steins;Gate playthrough.

Ignore them. I started to grind anki and did my kana reps along with grammar/kanji. Every card had its own audio file playing the word and its hiragana spelling so I associated them that way. After like a week learning like that I simply couldnt forget hiragana. Katakana took me a bit longer but I honestly didnt care that much about it and it came to me through immersion anyway.

Cardio is fine if you just want to be healthy. I think anyone should aim to be able to run for several minutes at least, it's simply way too useful in life, even if for the sake of catching a bus or not wheezing your lungs out after climbing stairs to Japanese shrine from your favorite manga.

Read UTA. All three of them. It has okay game play, so it's easier for people to transition into. I can't recommend Muv Luv for beginners. The final goal of hers that's something she can realistically achieve, a full album release, is getting really close. I know this isn't very dog related, but her being an idolfag (like they are), she's hit live performance (Dokomi live performance), 3d debut, 3d music videos, and now she's getting her album with her works in it. There's no real 'growth' left for what an idol would do in the scope of a vtuber and all she has left is releasing more songs. Kiara has helped me understand why people like the idol journey and become idol fans. It's a much smaller version of supporting a local comedian or band to see them get a record deal and blow up in the public eye. I look forward to following the twins and supporting them with much the same that I did with Kiara.
To bring it back to Fuwawa and Mococo, I really hope they get an opportunity to actually do an actual live performance like Kiara did for Dokomi, standing back stage and getting to live interact with the crowd on the other side of the wall.
