But examine this more closely. Why did HoloEN decline during the Omega era? Well....because they reduced the barrier between males an females like Niji does.
And how come the earlier NijiEN girls did so much better than the later ones? Well....because they weren't in a mixed-gen, and they were pandering towards the hololive audience with cute and seiso behavior.

In other words, Nijisanji culture ITSELF is the problem. Reducing the barrier between male and female IS the problem.

It's only "bad" for twitch viewers who are used to being able to shit up every chat with a million emotes plus BTTV, but can't do that on YT. Personally I think lacking BTTV and other channel emotes is a positive.
It's also fairly unreliable, crashing frequently and causing performance issues, so streamers complain about it too.
And people who are used to Twitch chat's batching have difficulty reading YT's constant feed, but it's something you can get used to or even prefer.

It's a cultural holdover from the early days. Back in the day the Holos would want to read a lot of the messages, keeping it to ~3 made it easier for them to read since you wouldn't have huge blocks of emotes appear. Same thing as why HoloJP prechats are basically all "待機". That's also a holdover from that era, when Holos used to gauge how many people were actually waiting for the stream based on that.
