Emergency Banlist Edition

It's Friday so that means another episode of DND! Which is convenient timing as pink cat will be there even though today begins her vacation. While the status of Vei and Zen are still unknown, Mel's vacation should be coming to an end soon to pick up the slack and keep things going. And after the tech issues during the Pikamee stream Mouse has confirmed that she finally bought a brand new computer that should hopefully reduce the frequency of tech problems she's had for awhile now.

Only a couple streams happened yesterday, but they all had their shining moments. Pink cat turned into a microwave and died. Again. while Mouse's parents proved themselves master trolls via shenanigans involving a comically small trash can. Both were fun streams that filled in an otherwise slow day.

But the biggest news came from Hime of all people. After opening her stream in the most scuffed way possible she talked about some recent changes in her life and in her outlook on streaming in general. The gist of it is that she has an office space now that will allow her to be as loud as she pleases, as well as join in on collabs with the other girls. It was all very nice news from someone who's become something of a punchline of the group and here's to hoping it works out for her. A number of the girls appeared in the chat to cheer her on making it clear that she is well-liked amongst each other even if her streaming frequency and collaboration potential has been lacking since her debut. Also mentioned a possible future Mario Party collab with Mouse and the monkey!

We'll have to see how well that pans out but she seems sincere and I'm eager to see what comes of it. That's everything of note that's happened since yesterday so remember to do your part to keep the thread comfy by ignoring bait, and always being excellent to one another.

I think the group dynamic this time is fascinating. Vei is actually acting like an anime catgirl and it is cute as hell, Froot is really embracing the roleplay aspect and having fun, Nyan is trying her damndest to follow the "how to be mysterious" wikihow instructions, Haruka is really enjoying being a lizard girl instead of a moose, and Snuffy started out a bit frigid but warmed up towards the end getting into the spirit.

I'm curious to see where they go once they're a bit more comfy with the roles.

It also seems like they'll be taking the whole thing a bit more seriously than the first game. I liked the first group while I was able to keep up with it, but they tended to devolve into Chaotic Stupid too much for my liking. Vaeri was the only character I really loved, everyone else just tended to be their player in costume essentially.

If the crossovers go anything like the ones for Mel/Mouse/Zen/Silver/Bunny/Momo it will be a time to be had by all. Arc usually keeps a familiar roster of players who are skilled at helping make everyone feel comfortable. Also some of his players like Connor are already known to the group and Mouse will be making an appearance so they should be able to facilitate.

Maybe, but for first timers they did pretty well. These girls are all first timers, too, but they're also a group that seems to take the roleplay aspect a bit more seriously. For the first group, Mel and Mouse never struck me as roleplayers even tho the latter could probably roleplay a Sentai Ranger just fine; while Silver and Momo were the more serious roleplayers, and Bunny / Zen were in between. But here, there are at least four hardcore nerds (Nyan, Froot, Haruka, and Snuffy) with only one being the frenetic type (Vei), so I'm hoping it'll be a lot more focused.

I don't watch VShojo, so I can't comment on flavor, but as far as the cards being good:
Froot: Castable from being milled, cheap sacrifice outlet, 1 mana sacrifice outlet, reusable ETB and death triggers w/2 copies, comes with a decent flying chump blocker to boot. Very good in niche decks that care about that, garbage in regular decks.
Hime: Doesn't impact the board on play at 4 mana, terrible stats and non-threatening even when it gets rolling. Unplayable.
Ironmouse: Extremely good stats for mana value. The way it is worded, the counters can be distributed to herself even if you control other creatures, since "other" is not written before "creatures you control". Amazingly good in aggro decks.
Nyanners: Shit statline that requires even more mana and cards to even have an effect, has a conditional for her ability, and has no immediate impact on board. Terrible.
Melody: Potential to cheat out lots of mana value in a Voltron style auras deck, but suffers from innate disadvantage of said deck in that you're asking to get 2-for-1ed or worse. Depends largely on available Auras in format, generally not good.
Silvervale: Trash. 2/1 first strikers are a dime a dozen at 2, so 3 for a 2/2 that requires resources is right out.
Veibae: Exerting for removal is nice, but not being able to tap down a creatures every turn limits her usefulness. Also, she's too expensive. Even at 1B, she'd be marginal.
Zentreya: Good limited card (where only cards in the card set it is from can be used), unplayable in constructed.

Froot: F/A- (normal/sacrifice-reliant)
Hime: D+
Ironmouse: A/B (as is/"other" added to text)

Melody: F/B- (normal/Auras good in format)

I watch both. I started with the girls before they were vshojo, melody originally after seeing a thread about her on pol, then mouse etc. I started watching hololive before the others started vshojo but I've only ever been able to watch hololive clips for the most part since I only speak English. Coco and to some extent Haachama were the extensions since Coco blends with english well and you don't need language to understand chaos so Haachama wasn't an issue.

I tried HoloEN at the end of last year when some I enjoy listed Gura and Ame among their top Youtubers of the year. I had been looking for some long-form content to watch as I perform tedious tasks at a job I hate, but I just couldn't sit through their streams and didn't really connect with any of them. A friend of mine recommended Nyanners to me after I hadn't heard about her for like 5 years and I instantly loved her chaotic energy. Less than a week later I was watching Mouse regularly, and the dominos fell from there. By the efond of the month I was watching them all and the girls mentioned in the + for this thread pretty regularly.

I've since tried getting into the HL girls again but I can't really. Clips are fine but since I'm generally multitasking and can't speak Japanese I need English speakers, and none of the HoloEN girls really interest me beyond out of context wackiness.

Burnout. It happens. Ever since the days leading up to the Kizuna Ai concert she's been kind of stressed almost non stop about one thing or another. Trying to keep the creative juices flowing to make new and funny shit wears anybody down. TV writers and such have seasons to worry about then can take a break, but a streamer has to go several times a week and it can lead to a lot of straining of the brain to figure out how to do the shit you want to do.

You seem to be forgetting that they are quite literally just starting out with D&D and from what I can see only a couple of them have any real experience with turn based RPG type games of any kind other than something like final fantasy.
It's very necessary to give them the tools they need to be able to survive, especially considering how much of his stories rely on intertwining with one another toward later stages. They'll probably stick with the same type of format and have some mild combat around session 4 which will seem utterly impossible for them at the time because they're still so new to it. They don't know the mechanics or terminology or anything yet. This is arcadum's specialty, breaking it down to a level that you can take your average person and throw them in a few games and they'll learn the mechanics enough to start to WANT to do the research on their own.

If you want to see more like the ending of this session, I recommend all of the Tyre groups from the last phase, specifically Heart for the horror theme. For some element of a full story I'd watch Gambler's Delight before it so you're familiar with one of the groups.

I love these sessions and the fan art reveals are some of the most wholesome shit just seeing all the love they get. I think it really helps reinforce their love of the game too.
