I think the OAI warning message is tied to the API key. I got sent another warning email even after not using it. I also read the email properly and saw the moderation API which only uses an API key for input. Using it on a new one shows it isn't flagged. Unfortunately, I deleted the flagged one I was using so I wasn't able to use it on the moderation API.
I'll wait for a while to see if I don't get any more warning emails then I'll use the new key.

That's unfortunate, I found that making the character nonchalant and confident toward the violence due to their regenerative ability / enjoy the pain made it so I hit the filter less but it feels like a copout. That's what I'm wondering and why I mentioned that specific update. Characters were aggro, but you also could get away with doing nearly whatever you wanted in return. That combined with the "cram more definitions in another language" gave me so much mileage on extremely violent content. I'm almost scared to even touch those private bots now. Both versions of pic related likely are just nonfunctional. I still want to try and get Akira working, even if the anon who asked for her isn't here anymore.

Yeah right, if people are still mentioning colab stuff then you guys haven't really been in the know how at all.
So, just to restate things, going corp is a necessity because we're currently building a website (among other benefits that individuals can't get). Consider the website as a fusion of the websites that exist at the moment. It's taken a while because we're not trying to rush things and make a shoddy site. To explain things better, let me tell you the steps we have taken so far and what are our next steps are.

Steps Completed
- Reorganise the project team again and get things started. One of the core members of the Pyg project is still MIA and I took over a lot of things to fill that gap.
- Acquire some form of funds that has barely any strings attached. Avoiding the typical startup approach of seeking VC funds. Not in it for the money and I rather not deal with investors.
- Acquire computes (basically GPUs) for model training
- Redo our dataset so our models are better
- Get some web developers involved so we can build a proper chatting website (consider it a combination of CAI + SillyTavern + other things)

Steps needed to be done
- Complete the first section of the website and beta test that
- Chatting interface is the next step so we will need to complete coding for that and work out partnership agreements with GPU providers
- Enter closed beta testing for everything related to chatting so we can acquire user metrics data so we can operate as cheaply as possible while maintaining quality (this is our way of making our models accessible to you guys, there is a free plan but we'll make it cheap as possible as well)

That's for the current short-term plans at the moment

If you choose the united states or most places subject to regulation, if Altman has his way eventually wouldn't that jeopardize you? On the dataset, okay so I remember the metharme logs and how we mistook it for Claude, but how are you intending to for lack of better wording I guess make sure people give Pyg another chance?
Brief glance through logs also had me wondering since there were some instances of euphemisms, looping, wouldn't that not affect you?
Lastly, specialization! We've always had a split of people who used cai for just chatting, not roleplaying versus those who did. Will it be geared more toward one than the other or are you going to try your best to incorporate both uses?

API being an option is being planned out. It's difficult to provide an API service for free, so we'll have to do something like NAI does (cuz if we did provide it for free, yeah that's going to be abused heavily and cost us actual compute). I'm hoping the site frontend will be good enough that people stay on the site but I understand that API are useful to have in general. It's not off the table but it needs to be done carefully. Hopefully, it'll be on the cheapest subscription plan but if someone pays like 10 bucks and shares it around to an entire group of people. Yeah, that's not going to be viable.

Project is based in America. The whole Altman thing is pretty weird but honestly a lot of the news related to OAI's collaboration with other companies to make a "regulatory board" seems like trying to recoup their position against open-source development. These thing takes year to actually fully implement into a predatory level. Worst case scenario, we'll have to move to a different nation. If it comes down to that, sure, we'll do it, but I feel like if we did anything pre-emptively then it's sorta like schizo behaviour (ironic coming from /vt/). I rather have the project focus on doing stuff first and establishing things.
As for your question regarding "making sure people give pyg another chance", honestly I have no clue what you're basing this off (maybe this is just /aicg/ sentiments). Yeah, the previous Llama1 models were pretty bad, there are reasons behind it on the whys and it took me a few months to make sure we do things properly again. If I want to "win back anons" then all we need to do is provide quality. Which is my entire MO with things.
So, those logs came from an experimental model using our new dataset. That dataset actually had some script errors so it wasn't fully there yet. One of the devs is redoing the dataset again so hopefully the generations will avoid the common model issues. We'll keep trying and trying until we get it right with community feedback.
For the specialisation question, I think it's possible we have models dedicated to chatting, roleplaying, and storywriting. Currently, the main focus in on roleplaying but once we feel like we done enough of a good job, we can train other models and offer that as an option on the website. It'll be implemented later and not a launch feature, but it is very possible to do.

There needs to be a push for people to break away. Even though said large corporations want to remove their use case. Paying or not. Thus repeating the cycle of Dev Hate and AI ethicists hate.

While API access would be nice, the potential for abuse is...high. I'd say really think that aspect through.

Honestly, as someone who is primarily in the local side of things. Claude and GPT4 isn't meant for roleplay so their quality is actually comparable to some local models now (especially if they keep reducing the smartness of the models). Eventually, OAI and Anthropic is going to bring down the hammer and implement safety features similar to C.AI where it is impossible to do anything "unsafe" with the AI. When people want to use other services because they had enough of corpo bullshit. We'll be around to pick them up.
I'm also in the matrix general too but I'm too busy being around in dicksword so I can't pop in as often. Should lurk in these threads more. Been here since the start back last year October but turning an underground 4chan project into an actual business is a lot of effort.

I already have everything setup and "working" but since I'm using a coomer model for that they just take off my clothes within one or two interactions.
My internet is fairly bad so I'd rather go for a good model rather than just wasting days downloading random ones that don't do well.

do you mean a local model or are you okay with something web hosted? Right now cloud hosted corpo models are the best at roleplay as long as you properly jailbreak, you can look for a proxy for GPT-3.5, GPT-4, or one of the Claude models, or set up your own openAI account if you're not opposed to paying. As far as local options go last I checked they're still very much a work in progress and none can match gpt3.

Right now for Kobold I'm running Erebus 20B and it seems good. I'm still learning how to use memory and other AI functions but even without those it's very coherent, just needs some nudging every now and then if it forgets the setting or mixes up two characters.
Trying to figure out of soft prompts work, I have a test one but Kobold doesn't show it in the menu.
For character AI I tried the built in Megumin and she was adamant she would teach me magic, but to do that we had to be naked.

I think I come back at the worst time. I was busy mourning the death of Illusion (The game company) by creating maids in Koikatsu. Back again, with much more success using Claude via slaude. Even though I had to pay for a month of using it since i couldn't find a proxy. Oh well, just gonna have to use it all month lmao
Anyway, is it normal that the Slack chat that is being sent through the proxy keeps saying it needs to be reinstalled because it "needs permission before it can paste files?"
