Can someone actually why this fucking retard is so popular? This is a serious question because I've tried to watch Gura and it just doesn't click. She's annoying, her voice is shrill, her model is kind of cute but that's not special, she's not any more talented than any of the others even outside her own generation.

Her debut went viral so she had a giant head start and during the pandemic there was a huge potential audience. From this starting point the new viewers of Gura and the other holo girls grew exponentially for the duration of the vtuber hype.
She doesnt have any debuff that would have majorly impeded her growth. She isn't the best but generally you just have to be good enough for the position you are in.
