Hello /log/, newfag with a few questions here:

-I saw that the Choco-Mel-Aki or blonde thread is a province, has a territory already been chosen for it?
-Have other nations or people written something involving it? I haven't found anything in the archive
-How much can I write for it as it's currently not official?

From the introduction document, I saw that the position in the world map, the climate, the surface area and the history of the nation were good starting points for a nation. The history section doesn't seem to have too many restrictions outside of respecting the technology of the age, but the others seem to depend on where the new nation would end up at

-The only reference to one of the Blonde's people is a Kapu-Min lady from /nasfaqg/ as a secondary character in a story.
-You can write as much as you'd like!
The "physical factors" of a society do tend to be a good starting point if you want to build the country up, yeah. Though there's also nothing wrong with conceiving a society that fits a certain vision and then picking a location that fits it.

Thanks for the answers! I have some ideas for a small nation made of 3 groups that came one after another (kapu-min first, choco mates after and finally rosetai) that managed to cooperate. It would depend on tourism and food exports and would work in any of the locations of picrel since the climate seems good for growing food and there is access to the sea for tourism and fishing

Sounds good! I think any 3 or 4 of those provinces would work pretty well. The climate in that region is pretty comparable to the likes of Florida, North Carolina or coastal China, so pretty comfy. Lots of midriff weather which seems perfect for ChocoMelAki. It's also on sea that goes to the global bay, so there would be a lot of maritime traffic in those waters, which should be good for trade and tourism.

David McGowan is more schizo and unhinged so far although I'm not too far into it, i didn't realize the cover was an actual corpse until I read the back of the book and that's the edgiest thing I've read so far, I'd say the book is far more disturbing and his writing is more about providing evidence of his claims rather than to glorify violent sex crimes like Peter Sotos might.
It's incredibly interesting and he makes a point of trying to be self aware with how schizo he sounds when he talks about brainwasing and satanic worship but when he gets into pedo trafficking rings, he makes an argument that's essentially undeniable and lays down some terrifying things to think about. I'm not that far into it and the bindings are falling apart already :( but just with the evidence he's presented, I'm convinced that he's not just going on a schizo rant and that his claims have substance to them. If you look up the Dutroux Affair or the Beast of Belgium you're likely to find some excerpts of his book from a /x/ thread.

Ah, then welcome back! Technically the cool climate is more accurate, but I don't think there would be a problem with using the other if you prefer it for some reason.
I think the thread has kinda shifted to a "loose canon" philosophy with those things (like SCP)? Just if someone else writes something about your nation they might make adjustments to keep their content internally consistent. At least that's the impression I got, there wasn't a formal discussion about this for the Vitubia setting, only for VT40k.

If there's one chuuba in the world where "magic rocks" are justified, it's Bijou. I did notice! It's kinda easy to forget though when her default state is just :D I'll have to double check her debut tomorrow since it's getting late to check the colors and corresponding emotions. I'll probably use that as a basis for some sort of philosophy and/or the flag. I was considering something like either making inhaling dust from the crysttals working as some sort of 'emotion boosting' drug or just take a page from warhammer49k's warp travel.
The magical girl thing is something I'll admit I didn't think of despite how obvious it is! I've mostly considered general society and I haven't been sure if to go with either taking some isles and go full easter island, go with grassy flat lands (ToT) or a more mountainous/hilly area for a lot more stone masonry stuff. I think the isles or the mountains would also serve to fit the need of magical rocks for transport the most.

Volcanic islands can have very varied landscapes. The Hawaii archipelago has both grasslands like this: https://www.hawaii-guide.com/big-island/sights/parker-ranch
And dramatic mountains like this: https://peakvisor.com/img/news/Hawaii-Na-Pali-Coast-Kauai.jpg
That's something neat about volcanic geology. Some polynesian inspiration would be fun, even if it's just in the Moai statues and geography. But continental mountains can get you that and would probably give you a lot more rock and stone in absolute terms.

Oh, maybe something like navigation essentially requiring taking some sort of medication that causes emotional dampening to not go insane during the voyageor just general exposure to the gem's magic. 'Magical girls' meanwhile would be a select few that prove to be compatible enough to be able to harness the powers of a specific emotion, though not without some minor damage to the psyche related to the emotion in question. Either always displaying said emotion more intensly or maybe instead that they feel completely numb to the emotion
>>55682348
True. Having magical girls flying around between mountains and valleys decorated in moai statues carved into their surfaces during mock dog-fights could also just be really fun... though I have to ask if the setting as a whole is still more on the side of low-fantasy before I go too crazy.

Also, to make this post not completely off-topic, thinking of making the moai heads serve as an inverse of her intro. As in they are actually standing caskets made of stone. Perhaps they might even be slightly shaped like the corpse inside but without losing the iconic look. Wonder how I should integrate the various pebbles though. Maybe crafting an amulet with a decorated small stone could serve as a coming of age thing? Something to sleep on I suppose. Good night!

Cool Moai idea... A field of Moai's would be a graveyard. Iirc the Moai represented deified ancestors IRL, so that's actually a pretty close interpretation of that.

Bijou is dropping some lore:
Shiori can pick up Bijou and use her as a magical rock gun
Bijou's offensive magic is stronger than Nerissa's, but only because the latter is missing one horn

Awesome report anon

>Shiori can pick up Bijou and use her as a magical rock gun
Could this be something only Shiori can do and is related to her capabilities or is this hinting that maybe Bijou was created as a weapon?

>Bijou's offensive magic is stronger than Nerissa's, but only because the latter is missing one horn
Im always a sucker for sacred artifacts. An /ope/ rep would be neat to have to see if the lost horn shard has some lore

>The dogs aren't powerful magic users, but they're very strong physically and their claws are dangerous.
Beast tribes having superhuman strength is pretty well established. Would be cool if they had something like Gura's red transformation where they both go completely feral and just rip shit to shreds

>Shiori's power level is mysterious, the other girls don't even know whether she's a human.
love my goth gfShes always calling us humans so this kind of tracks. My head-canon is that she might be related to Ina's book in some way; specially since shes a big Lovecraft fan

>> No.55686741

The main bit of horn shard lore I can remember is that Shiori knows where it is, but is withholding that information. Bijou seems confident in her own abilities, so I think she can draw out her powers without Shiori, but maybe Shiori can buff her in some way? I like the "weapon magic girl" thing, that's a classic.
They show a kinda wild side in their kaibutsu cover, maybe that's something they'll expand on.
Shiori's eye theme makes me think she's directly related to the "Watcher" character in Ina's lore, there's some kind of connection for sure.

In an abandoned realm, a subway's hush,
Escaping souls find solace in a secret rush.
Bijou, radiant gem, on a bench reclined,
Nerissa fussing, love's warmth intertwined.

Twins Fuwawa and Mococo, laughter in the air,
Playful prods and whispers, a bond beyond compare.
Shiori, archivist, heart's pang in her chest,
A curious affliction, love's truth manifest.

A moment frozen, souls bared in the light,
Shiori's revelation, a starry night's flight.
"I love you all," Bijou's shimmering grace,
In this underground haven, hearts find their place.

Nerissa's broken horn, a symbol of her song,
Shiori's caress, a promise to mend the wrong.
Tails wag, laughter echoes, joy unconfined,
In this newfound love, unity they find.

A plan unfolds, talents intertwine,
Idols they become, their futures entwine.
Fans as shields, rebellion's flame ignite,
Their bond unbreakable, against the darkest night.

Shiori's request, an embrace's warmth,
A dogpile of laughter, hearts taking form.
Bijou's radiant glow, arms stretching wide,
In this moment of togetherness, their spirits collide.

In the abandoned subway, love's colors blend,
A tapestry of souls, a tale without end.
Bonds forged in hardship, stronger than before,
A symphony of love, forevermore.

Fighter planes combined with the armour of a medieval knight (for which he needed helpers to get on/off and maintain). Adds a visceral factor to things, and allows "the hero" to sustain horrific wounds but keep fighting.

Gundam forced conflicts into close range because the widespread use of Minovsky particles jammed radio signals and made it hard to use long-range weapons. They started investigating pilots's psionic potential not just because precognition made them better pilots, but because telepathy wasn't subject to jamming - this led to the development of endgame-tier mecha with psychic amplifiers in the cockpit and charging racks for weaponised drones on the back.

And the excuse for them being humanoid is "AMBAC" - protruding limbs can mount vernier thrusters for improved maneuverability in space - combined with the desire for a weapon that can operate both in space and in standard gravity conditions.

This being because the usual conflict in Gundam is between Earth and orbital space colonies. Meaning that mobile suits frequently raid O'Neill cylinders, and need to be able to go directly from space to rotational gravity and back.

Mobile suits designed exclusively for ground use were developed later, mostly as modifications of space-focused models.

>Moral Anomaly
Unnatural psychological effect OR a memetic hazard caused by Catalog/Heavenly Realm interactions. For example, Schizofication.
Basically, the result supernatural infohazards spreading throughout the crew. The job of the Moral Anomaly Investigation Squad is to track down those affected by these hazards, and isolate and hopefully eventually cure them, as well as tracking down the source of these hazards and eliminating them/it.
>Office of Divine Matters
The commanding branch of the Esoteric Warfare Regiment. They are in charge of anything to do with the Heavenly Realm or the Catalog. For example, it would be them who would organize how to handle the retrieval of, say, a supernatural artefact of some sort, or plan how to make sure the ship survives a sudden heavenly realm storm caused by a graduation. Basically, they are the experts in everything regarding magic that the ship may encounter during combat or during its travels, and their job is to plan on how to handle these situations.
They are also in charge of organizing locations of worship for the crew.
>Orbital Strike Force
Their task is to provide precision (Emphasis on "precision") orbital artillery support and CAS to Marines on the ground, as well as work as their transports if needed.
The guns on the Carrier and her Fighters are much too powerful for this level of precision, and would risk causing friendly casualties. The Frames of the Constellation are also mainly designed for zero-G combat and arent as suitable for atmospheric battles, although they can still do it just fine, its just not where they are at their most optimal.
This is a Battlecarrier, meaning that it's mission is to fight for supremacy against enemy forces in orbit and in zero-G space. A Support Carrier would have much more ground force elements in it's holds.

Yes it is. In my obsession with getting EverybodyEdits physics (as I remember them anyway) just right, I got a little bit frustrated because I couldn't get them exactly so I abandoned the project for a while but I hope I can get some progress done soon. Like I said the game is heavily inspired by EverybodyEdits so by design it's supposed to have this blocky feel to it. Although of course I plan to replace the white platftorms for colored block sprites and the red circle for a sprite of my oshi running.

Ok, I renamed the resources, and now all three spawn. Looking a bit more dwarf fortress-ish now. By placing a square of your color on top of the resource, you start receiving 2 of it per node per second.
Best of all, it works for both players at the same time, and only each player gets its own resource update, so you can't cheat and look at what econ your opponent has by sniffing the network traffic.

I figure maybe some machines can emit a magical signal that distorts or lags electromagnetic waves so that targeting and homing systems have a bit more trouble tracking targets. Not so much that they can't shoot bigger stuff like spaceships, but enough that things like beams and missiles have a lot of trouble hitting something small and maneuverable like a mecha. Maybe not all units are equipped with that, but if there's one in your squad with it they can extend the jamming field to his allies? From the point of view of someone shooting a laser it might look like the target is in the position it was a few instants ago, or distorted somehow? With the effect being less effective as you close the distance.

Does that mean it’d be like some kinda optical camouflage or that afterimage thing from Gundam F91? Visible light’s also EM wave after all and I think a decent amount of guided weapons use visible lights to lock onto targets. I think the main setting has something like that so it could work!

I sort of assumed this type of tech to be available when designing the squadron structure. The acronym EECW stands for "Esoteric, Electronic, & Cyber Warfare", with the "Esoteric" specifically referring to vitubic and magical / catalog / heavenly realm shenanigans. I was thinking of that squadron to essentially be a non-combat one whose sole purpose is to tag along the strike squadrons while carrying a device that disrupts both Electronic and Vitubic targeting systems and radars.

How I imagine a jamming signal like that would look "on the map" for the enemy is:
>1: As a large, overwhelming signal that takes up a large area, thus hiding the actual smaller signals inside it.
The enemy then knows the rough location of the Squadron(s), but not their exact ones. They would be limited to visual range for targeting, or using weapons so destructive that just targeting the massive signal guarantees at least a few hits.
>2: As a completely normal looking area of space.
This would be a sort of "Smart" disruptor, that uses the idea of wave superposition or something like that to nullify signals coming from the area. It is probably possible to do this directionally as well, meaning that the Squadrons hidden in the zone could still be visible to allies approaching from behind or from the flanks. However, since to achieve a superposition like that, multiple overlapping zones of disruptors would be needed, this means that the enemy likely still knows that there is something funny going on in the area since they would be able to detect the disruptor signals themselves. However, it might be possible to mask these signals as just vitubic communications between ships, or as "echoes" of vitubic radars or something.

The 1st option would be probably the simplest to implement and thus probably much more likely to be mounted on a single machine. The 2nd option would probably be more effective but it would need a much higher organizational ability and thus be limited to large formations, or even combined-arms formations with mixed Navy and Mechas.

You should keep in mind though that if Vitubium can interact with the electromagnetic field, this also implies that the electromagnetic field can interact with Vitubium. It would be a two-way street and thus it would be possible to disrupt magical signals with the right type of EM radiation.

>> No.55805149

>>55804358
That works! Maybe the way the disruptors work is like a 0.001% power version of a catalog gate, where the outgoing signals get scrambled by passing through a shallow part of the catalog and comes out weakened, blurred and distorted to varying degrees, at least for the #1 option
