I've never played that Pokemon game, but I have played a couple other MOBA games. And in those games I knew what every skill of every character does. Even if I haven't played some characters myself I dealt against them. This is true in the sense that just mindlessly running into the enemy (like Kiara and IRyS kept doing) will just feed them free exp. If you play with bots, the bots at least know not to give the enemy free kills.

In Pokemon Unite, it's really difficult to catch up if you fall behind the enemy team early on in the game. If you're level 3 while your opponent is level 6, you will with certainty lose every fight. This is what kept happening during the EN practice streams. This is not a game where one strong player can carry the entire team. But having awful teammates will do you more harm than if you were playing alone against the whole enemy team.

She was doing a regular marathon stream and asked chat about an hour and a half out if she could make it to the end and beat it before some special Ina stream was gonna happen. Lots of probably nots, a few maybes, and a cpuple of yesmen spammed the chat with their replies, and because the yesmen were normal names she sees every day, her eyes gravitated towards their replies.
She made it to the final boss with one or two attempts, depending on how fast she failed left before needing to end the stream. She went into the fight with a decent kit, paniced like she usually does, and failed wirh the boss only having a little health left. She ended up spending the next 5 minutes asking chat if she could make it with another attempt while lamenting that she didn't have enough time and actually tearing up and crying at multiple points.
The stream ended, the VoD was privated, she cut out the last 20 minutes, and mentioned in the next stream how she felt really stressed and tired and didn't think it was content that she wanted out there so she'd beat the boss in that stream and read superchats to fill the rest of the time and put up the edited versiom of the VoD from the day before.
It was part yesmen, part her wanting to finish the game and move on to somwthing new that pushed her to try and beat it.

My take on this is that it's tied to her personality. To some extent, she's one of those people who expect things to be served to her on a silver platter. And I say "to an extent", because clearly she's capable of putting in the hard work for her goals, but this isn't the first time I see her refuse to read or learn mechanics, because apparently the presentation or the formatting isn't good enough for her, or the explanation isn't immediately obvious or intuitive to her, or it's just too boring. It's like some sort of entitlement that either everything should be presented and explained in a specific way that's perfect for her, or she should be able to easily and intuitively play the game and succeed without any reading, and as soon as this doesn't go her way she starts complaining as if it's not her fault for not taking a minute to read, but the game's fault for being badly designed(and of course it's chat's fault too for backseating when they try to point out mechanics she skipped over that help with whatever she's complaining about).


TL;DR sometimes she has this attitude of either things work her way, or it's someone else's fault.

It was Skyward Sword the first time. When she started to get really whiney at the end of Metroid, people assumed the same would happen given it was a long stream and pretty late for her and the cracks were showing. She ended up making it out ok in the end of Metroid tho. I wonder how she'll handle being tired while playing a game she's pretty bad at and if she feels like she's losing it for her team I could see it getting pretty rough. She should really just do a short stream today and take a nap/try to sleep. Worst case is she gets a few hours and tosses and turns until 5am and gets to nap afterwords, but staying up the whole time seems like a bad idea.
