They don't seem particularly close to my recollection and have night and day differences in interests and content. They debuted months apart too. They are as close as if you had retconned Irys into being the Aspect of Hope lorewise to officially fit in to Council. A connection on paper doesn't make her suddenly a better collaber or friend of the councils.
