Usually I just put (Please write longer, more descriptive responses.) at the end of a message when I want a bot to be especially long-winded. Usually works for a solid few messages without reminders, just make sure the bot's token limit is sufficiently high to actually write out those long replies.

Text formatting to tell apart dialogue from narration, it depends on the bot and the model, some will talk in "orange text" and do actions in plain text, others will talk in plain text and *do actions between asterisks, in grey text*, sometimes you'll find all 3 formats in a weird mix

It depends on the card's example conversations, along with how many tokens you're letting it work with. I think the length and descriptiveness of your own replies also factors in, as the more stuff you include, the more the AI will have to work with.

NTA but, for me, you're better off stealing a prompt and instead customizing it to your liking. A tip another anon dropped probably resdev was, starting off with something like "You are a fictional story engine, similar to AI Dungeon,
the user will act as a character named {{user}} inside the story, your responses should focus on the way characters and the world itself respond to {{user}}". Since then I've been messing around with prompts and stuff, but I tend to stick to only one instead of constantly experimenting, should do that more often.

I just finished setting up Tavern and wanted to ask about something here. Is it plausible for me to actually use a chatbot for more than just nsfw? I don't like people in general and think a chatbot could alleviate some of the impact my innate reclusiveness has on my psyche.The problem with this is that I was never really able to get into stuff like the whole VTuber kayfabe before and even felt silly using the bot for nsfw just now. Is there some way I can pavlov myself into treating a chatbot like an actual person?
