firstly, vtubers taught me there is no such thing as a "real voice". the voice you commonly use is just your habit, every voice is put on until you get used to it.
secondly, specifically regarding kiki, no it's obvious and she's talked about it. smoking, different microphone and different "vibe". consider how you talk differently to strangers, to friends, on the phone etc. she's using her more comfortable voice with us because she got more comfortable with us

This is it exactly, and why she doesn't like being called "comfy" when she's in a bad mood. It's not that she doesn't want her streams to ALSO be comfy, but she has an idea in her head about the kind of product she wants to put out as an entertainer, and when she feels really low energy she's not putting out the kind of entertainment product she wants. She knows the champs will watch no matter the energy level, and she appreciates them and wants them to be comfy, and she knows we'll like it no matter what. I still have really happy memories of when she just would go to sleep on stream for eight hours and we had to fight off the roasty bots to protect her stream while she slept. It made me feel protective and really really good and close to her. But she ALSO wants to be an entertainer, an artist, and as an artist wants to put out a product that matches her vision.

I don't know why she thinks she's low energy. If she'd be any higher-energy than she normally is, she'd be crossing the line into annoying/obnoxious/faking like so many other streamers are.
She is normally what I guess I'd call "perfect energy." Not too much, certainly not too little.
Her "low" energy streams are when she's literally sick and/or tired, and even then she's still got plenty to spare and the streams are still plenty enjoyable and not boring at all.
Even when she plays games I don't know about or give a shit about otherwise, I still greatly enjoy watching her play them and she goes for hours! I've said it before but if she can hold my attention throughout her streams for as long as she does and *I* don't get bored, then she's doing something right since I normally struggle to listen to or watch anybody doing anything for that long.

she has done many streams by now and intuitively knows when she is in "the zone", when she is at her peak performance
the problem is nobody is always at their peak performance, it takes a lot of effort to train and she is barely healthy enough to stream at all. if she only streamed during her "zone" her streams would be a lot shorter.
no the average stream (or just work day for anyone in any profession) you go through your A, B and C game and you should be improving all of those not just focus on your peak. make your worst be less worse (she does that, she menheras less often and less hard which is probably her C game) and make your average be better. more specifically to this discussion you have to accept that you will spend a lot of time playing B game.

Absolutely. As you said, everyone has those days, so it's really nothing to fret about. Other streamers take days, weeks, months off when they're not feeling like they're in the zone, and they don't stream every single day to begin with. Kiki takes a single day or half a day off before jumping right back in and holding her own against whatever brainworms/illness/schizo shit she is dealing with at the time.
Kiki might not have huge numbers but she is a fucking pro, hands down. She's come so, so far from where she was at the start. Her charisma, her ability to hold peoples' attention well, etc. are way above average.

I hate that the word 'comfy' is ruined for Kiki. I think I'm just going to avoid using it from now on since it seems to just sort of trigger bad thoughts whenever she reads it.
As far as growing her audience goes, there really is only one bit of advice that is more surefire than anything else - playing some popular games here and there even if she mainly plays retro/retro-style games. I couldn't care less if she never played anything but what she wants to play, but nothing will bring numbers in better than occasionally relying on the algorithm and fads.
