Why is Hololive 3rd Gen the most popular out of all the Hololive generations? They have both the most subscribers and the most superchats out of any generation.

They started getting serious with their scouting at that point. This is also their 2nd time to have a theme for each generation. First being Gamers who are successful as well as a unit. I don't know why they didn't do the same for 4th and 5th. But as you can see with Holomyth, it paid well. You also have to factor in that they hired seasoned streamers for 3rd gen that did not overlap and who have clear attributes that they can do on their own.

Flare had a rough start because she was role playing a character she struggled with which is a cool stoic oneesan character. She changed so she is pulling decent numbers. She's more comfortable and happy. Her gachikois and numbers are better than half of Hololive girls so I wouldn't say she is a flop.

Another thing to point out about generations is that even though 5th gen did not have a clear theme that binded them, they are the group that collabs the most nowadays. So as far as optics goes, they are easy to market as a group which I think is very smart.

Flare actually pulls pretty good viewership for her Minecraft and MHR streams recently, better than Noel. She just struggles to get new subs at the same pace as the others, most likely due to her being not as clippable as the other 4.
