I can't officially put my seal of approval on Alarm #2 until I've had a full, uninterrupted 8 hours before hearing it. But I can say, despite being soft, it is an effective alarm and will wake you up slowly. I think it's something like how yawning is theorised to be contagious to keep a herd/tribe awake and alert. Hearing someone else sleepily wake up makes the process of waking up more natural.

that FLAC is from some streaming service. there's a short argument about where it's from in the nyaa comments thread too. it's obviously not from the AAC it's being compared to in the screenshot, it's not from youtube's AAC, and it's not from youtube's opus. the spectrogram doesn't look like any of those sources, but it also doesn't look like it's converted from any common lossy encoder. it's weird that the spectrogram isn't a strict superset of one of the lossy ones, but at the same time, it isn't evidence that it was transcoded from any of them either.

it's frankly going to be very difficult to hear a difference between a lossy encoding and a lossless encoding of the song, because the production itself uses so many FFTs to process the vocals. in other words, melodyne (for example) creates an inherently lossy vocal mix, and in this case, that's almost the whole vocal mix. so basically it just isn't worth worrying about.

The song is good as fuck. I listened to it in the car the first time and it sounded good but I couldn't understand the lyrics being an EOP and all. When I got home I played it about a dozen times in a row with CC on to read the lyrics and they really elevate it. Pretty obvious what and who Gawr is a metaphor for and the song reveals her feelings about it in a way that I didn't expect but I'm glad she was able to share those feelings in a way that doesn't break kayfabe and actually deepens her canon lore too. Really impressive work, worth the wait. Definitely understand why it took so long to get a song out; she was really writing from the heart.

You guys are aware that Red Gura represents anxiety depression and anger right? It represents her feelings of not being good enough, not deserving all of this, and her past. But the song represents her fight against these things and the support from her fans and her coworkers, and Red Gura always being inside of her, and shes accepted that fact and tries to move past it all and grow.

my lore rrat isn't that she's a split personality but more a really strong shark urge whenever she smells blood or gets too horny, reflect is an internal dialogue between gura and her leftover guilt for what happens during red gura mode. Like the trope of the devil and angel on your shoulder. Gura is completely aware when she sharks out, and she can 'control' it, its more that back in the day, she didn't care enough to control it.
Something happens, she realises that murder is bad and has to resist the urge to bite from now on.
