What's the point in debuting vtubers at this stage in vtuber history when everyone either:
A) Likes vtubers and is already watching/supporting as many as they can.
B) Hates vtubers.

Literally who is this for?

>> No.54479074

Well I can't speak for most on here since I took a break from /vt/ since March of last year, but I think it's for people who want a new guard of talents to follow. That's why I started browsing this board again specifically because EN3's announcement caught me off guard.

so we can dunk on nijifaggots and homobeggars
homobeggars especially, they already moved their goal post from "it's a mix gen" to "tempus collab" in their sad coping.

Recently, there's this pro fighting game player who just found out about hololive, because of botan. Now he watch other holomems, he even supercha to them.
See, that's the beauty of hololive.
One holomem bring new audience and that audience will watch the rest of holomems.

This is why Cover is pushing the Wrestling crap onto the girls huh. Spreading awareness and all that.

>> No.54479651

>>54478967
I, at least, just fell down the rabbit hole in November. I've watched several of the girls from the different branches and enjoy them quite a lot, but the feeling of being a stranger who is trying to get into an existing community is definitely palpable. So the idea of being able to start from scratch with a fresh generation of girls is quite appealing.

That's not really a fair comparison when one of those things can provide up to 100 hours of content at most while a single vtuber can provide literally thousands of hours of content from streaming every day for years.

>> No.54479836

>>54478967
The vtuber audience isn't growing and hasn't done so in a long while
They're just squeezing the last penny out of the existing audience.

>> No.54480054

>>54479770
It would be the opposite, actually. A game provides 10-100 hours of very tightly focused enjoyment, but with a vtuber (at least, let's say after a month of activity) that's 100-1000 hours of streams to sift through if you aren't using clips and browsing threads. Part of the appeal of the initial days of a new generation of vtubers is that the signal-to-noise ratio is high and so it feels like every Tweet and every collab matters a lot more than it does down the line.
>>54479836
It's called consolidation. The audience is growing but the market is so diverse and spread out that it gives the illusion that vtubing is on a decline.

First the simple fact to make indies and nijiniggers and small corpo seethe is already worth it.
Second It's always important to start new gen to not lose your audience to those previously mentioned
Third there is still an enormous pool of people who are between the two extreme your retarded baiter brain tryed to push who represent around 100% of the people in the world.

I remember anons threadshitting about how when a new gen debuts you'll see nothing but Vtubers either from previous corpos or known indies because the community has been dried of talent.
Now we see the same happening in Hololive if the predictions turn out to be correct

Fresh blood is needed to keep things interesting, Kiara wasn't supposed to say it, but she indicated that interactions get stale over time, because they've explored everything they can. They're not trying to reel in new viewers, though that would be welcome, it's mostly to keep the viewers they have. You know those daytime tv dramas who introduce a new character every so often to keep things fresh? Same thing.

Vtubing is not a far in Japan. It is in the west and EN’s recent decline should be an indicator of that. Western values are at odds with what makes vtubing work in the first place.

What is this god awful as fuck take. If you mean the growth of the industry won't have a significantly large spike, you would be right, but the industry existed before covid and won't die off as long as the target audience exists.
If anything, with the way current generational relationships and courting works out, vtubing has goldfields.
