Recently started following a girl with only 30 or so followers. Her chat is filled with the same two or three guys that keep calling her mommy and saying shit like sit on my face. She pretty much just sits there and takes it because they’re repeat viewers and keep the chat active. At that point as a streamer you can’t really just ban someone who’s loyal enough to be a repeat streamer. While the grass might seem greener and girls might seem like they have an easier time growing as a streamer, you also have to imagine to retarded shit they have to put up with every day.

Personally getting sick of the sexualization that permeates en vtubing. I'm not talking about coomer designs or anything, I'm fine with those as long as they're interesting. I'm more referring to the talk and dialogue. It's about audience and preferences.
Vtuber who will be worshipped by audience that want lewdness will be unappealing to people like you.
And same time vtubers with non-sexualized appeal will look bad to people who like much fan-service.
It's cool when you have a choice.
But same time "fan service" audience seems to be wider than people who dislike it.
That's why we see so many lewd vtubers. But lewd or not - it's only about preferences and different audience.
You can't be perfect for everyone.

Its all category specific. I regularly get catalog traffic in a category loaded to the gills with 5view flesh streamers and events by having a handful of viewers from follows, playing the game in a certain way, making the way I play (character, in this case) searchable. These examples just make me understand what NGMI is truly about. It has nothing to do with anything people talk about here ever. It's literally just charisma. The sum of your ability to thrive in a social scenario and be genuinely captivating. In my years of streaming I've never had anyone say something like that about me. People appreciate my effort and compliment things, but it's just like passing by a cute girl and acknowledging that she's cute. Out of mind within 5 minutes.

You need to be memorable, and addicting. Your model or your stream doesn't matter. You only need to go on there and talk and if you are good enough at it, people will listen to you and tell others to listen. Yes everything else can help aswell and none of your effort is wasted, but charisma in my opinion plays a huge part in what makes you "GMI".

The bad news about this realization is knowing I don't have any and I feel like it's one of the hardest things to acquire. It's a sum of your entire life's experiences filtered through your personality. It sucks that it's so ambiguous, but understanding why I'm NGMI helps putting things into perspective.

I only agree partially. Charisma is the most important thing, some of us have it and some of us don't. Same thing goes for having an attractive voice, and for the most part, you're going to have an extremely harder time improving the quality of your voice. That being said, the quality of your model and assets is pretty significant. I know multiple people who are essentially charisma black holes who had single digit ccv quadruple their numbers overnight by buying a nicer model. So my advice is either get gud or shell out.

Its a really difficult thing to acquire. Though I think just practicing it and streaming is one of the best ways to get better at it. Day [9] himself says he spent a huge amount of time practicing story telling and it took years of streaming for him to get really good at it.

I think a good basic process to making a good story is goes something like this.

1. Choose the story you want to tell. I think this doesn't inherently have to be about something interesting, in fact its probably great practice to choose to tell a story about something that isnt inherently all that interesting in and of itself. Most people don't have a ton of really interesting things happening in their life all the time, and the ones who do have all these inherently interesting stories all the time are probably lying.

2. Start expanding on the story. Add details, go off on tangents, add in how you felt at the time, what you were thinking about, turn it into some philosophical treatise on the meaning of life. Anything. Just add and add so that the story doesn't take all of just a minute to tell.

3. Rehearse telling the story, either out loud (possibly recording it?) or in your head. Try to think critically about it during the telling. Are some parts not very interesting? Are you losing your audience? Maybe you should expand upon the most interesting part of the story? Then repeat from step to as many times as you need or are able to before telling the story to your audience.

The nice thing about this process is that its something you can do throughout your day. Maybe you can rehearse a story and tell one at each of your streams? I think its definitely something you can develop as a skill if you put the time and effort into it, and getting a reaction from your audience could also be helpful to getting better at it too.
