I don't wanna seem schizo for suggesting this, I am not suggesting it. But it almost feels like they browsed /vt/ and took note of the most legitimate complains about gen 2.
You can almost go point for point and see how they avoided many of gen 2's mistkes.
Starting from the reveal, we complained a lot about the many vague teases leading to gen 2 and gen 3 opens up with one reveal trailer quickly followed up by a great reveal and immediately the debuts all on one week. We complained about the tone of council not fitting a vtuber gen, it simply wasn't fun or high energy and gen 3 has a very high energy theme going on. We complained about the characters coming with too much writing baggage and lore and being too complicated, and gen 3 gives us characters with almost no characterization or pre-written personality and the lore is extremely basic.
In every way they addressed the main complains.
We could go even deeper, if the twins are who people speculate they are that is also addressing one of the main complains about the streamers we got last time, people wanted more japanese style cute anime girls so they are giving us that. People wanted more idols, and one of the new girls is already sold as an idol.
I don't want to be too optimistic but things Cover is doing the right moves so far.
