Good design plus boring content is considered a "waste of a good design". Good content plus bad design will leave you forever in "hidden gem" territory. You need both. People click for the design and stay for the content.
Quantity is important of course but as long as you stream most days you're probably fine. You don't need 10 hours of streams every day to be successful.
I guess if you're an indie the move is to start with a cheap model and build up some skills and a modest community, then invest in a great model and pray you can generate some good clips. For a Holo though? Your model is probably going to be good so just try your best to make an impression. You'll never have more eyes on you than your debut so make it count. Minecraft solo is very meh content if the girl is not really inspired or a hard worker (peko, moona etc) or is not good at zatsudan while playing the game. I swear all the absolute best Fauna smalltalk is while she is playing MC. I hate Minecraft as a streamer game, but let's be honest here, with the permits hell it's not really that simple to drop it, especially when it still has a big fanbase. It's a simple game that anyone can just pick up and make content in, so it's perfect for girls that might not be big gamers in the first place.
Many games just aren't good for content in the first place too. I'd love to have a Diablo 2 vtuber autist around, playing on a higher level than 20 hours normal playthrough, but that game just wouldn't pull any numbers nowadays.

Maybe it's not straight up faggot thing, and during my uni days I met quite a lot of people who watched some basic stuff (big 3, classic like FMA, Eva, Death note), but that doesn't change the fact like 95% of population are still straight up normies, and out of remaining 5% only another 5% would be on the level of involvement to watch vtubers, and then ANOTHER 5% maybe would superchat.
