>What is /kayfabe/?
Kayfabe is a thread for viewers to find streamers devoted to playing characters, who care about their lore/ world building and integrate it into their streams, the discussion of vtuber ARGs, and meta /vt/ conspiracy theories/lore/ larping/ ARGs. Vtubers who do offline content are also welcome.

Years ago, Sora's become god's chosen one on a Christmas eve, when all the big 4 streams died but hers. In return, a curse was born: on the 25th of every month something terrible happens to the vtubing scene. Every hlgg thread split carries the curse with them, but only a few originals remember. Some of them however worship the curse. They believe it is but the continuation of the miracle but in disguise, since every time Holo falls they come back up stronger. They chose to act on their schemes exactly in the 25th, becoming the embodiment of said curse. You should check in what date your general was born, you might find the curse was within you all along.

That would be A tier marketing.

gonna be upfront: Nelson seem to have some background in performance either as a musician or in theater, but most of the time he doesn't seem to bother.
The problem with using a stablished character creates expectations and he fails to deliver them, he constantly forgets about his character persona and instead replaces it with his "haha so funny i am dick" persona that while it is also kayfabe no one really likes, nor the women not his bros.
Acting like an asshole is empowering and it must be fun for him but it is not always fun to watch much less to interact

Yea its a line that's so hard to tow that its usually better for most people to just get off and try a different character beat. Chuubas like Sigrid kind of have that same issue where being a bit of a cynical dick is part of their character but the line is kind of blurry sometimes and it can get uncomfortable at times.
Now if he was like a goofy supervillain, I wonder if that would change things up. I've only really seen that kind of negative energy work well with Neuro sama since there's always the general consensus that getting pissed off at an ai makes you a dumbass.

That being said, I think most people here have a custom setting in mind, setting your kayfabe in an existing setting seems like it might cause IP issues unless you did some legal homework. Plus that just gives more room for flexing the chuuba's creativity.

That got me to smile. You'd be surprised what has gotten started on this Tibetan Knitting Forum. I have seen some amazing things begin here. Nobody is an expert, but you still learn a LOT.

True. You'd have to pick your setting very carefully. I know World of Darkness has a pretty friendly rule set (Dark Pack), though Wizards of the Coast tried to fuck over D&D with changes to the OGL recently. Warhammer is still strict as fuck.

On one hand, picking an established setting would let others interact with my character more easily in-world. This could be fun for long term evolution as others can drag their characters in to interact with mine. On the other, you also have a point about that total freedom. But the opposite side of total freedom is that my audience is stuck portraying themselves leaving me to do all the world building as the world's most interactive DM.

I'm working on a model that's heavily BnHA/shonen inspired and the character I want to portray is essentially a shonen villain/rival who is edgy and hot-blooded but good-natured and angst-free. My model is going to be more muscular/masculine than bishie. Sort of like a cross between young Endeavor and future Trunks. But I despise vroids. It's kind of a tabletop general but the big issue is that I think its stretching itself too thin by not deciding what the central idea of the thread is. I'm not even quite sure if /log/ has had any threads that have lasted to bump limit.
I think making it a tabletop or vtrpg general lets the lore and setting stuff remain while encouraging talk about tabletop gaming streams that different chuubas do and lets people discover new chuubas in the process as well as tabletop related vtuber projects.

If there were TTRPG chuubas to discuss, that might be nice, but I don't think there are any with this focus that are even 2views... Or at least they aren't easy to find. Discussing whenever larger chuubas happen to do some TTRPG-related content is more workable, but that is also a bit uncommon.

I'm still learning the Vroid system, but here's what I have learned so far:

Vroid:

As to how the character moves: that is based on the program/platform you load the Vroid into. You can add more motion points and update the rigging by loading the Vroid into another program, too. I'm not to this point yet so no hand-on experience to share on that. I'm currently working with Vroid and figuring it out.

Interesting thread, I'm curious about where/whether Pekora fits into this niche.
She's definitely not the strictest in terms of her own lore or chuuba-level kayfabe, doesn't call her mom "Queen" or anything despite supposedly being a "Princess" of Pekoland, and often references irl stuff like her moving and what not without any "kayfabe filters".
Her forgetting to use "Peko" is a long-running joke in her streams. Also her occasional /x/tier rants.
She's also extremely different irl compared to her on-stream persona (unlike say, Luna), and is very kind to other members.

But at the same time, on-stream she often embodies a sort-of "villain character" persona, sometimes cartoonish, other times "criminal mastermind"-ish.
And she uses that to create small and medium sized storylines within both her solo streams and ESPECIALLY in big collab streams with the other girls (Minecraft, Rust, Ark etc.) for entertainment purposes.

I'd even argue that this style of "story arc" creation is the best way to balance the same experience of WWE-style on-stream kayfabe while still allowing the VTuber to be mostly "themselves" on stream.
