cheap mics tend to only capture the higher frequencies (you know what else has higher frequencies? female voices)
that GoXLR piece of shit (and probably the default settings of the 'pro grade mics' every nigger streamer uses) seems to accentuate the middle frequencies, which work fine for dudes who want that 'radio voice', but make Kiara's nasally voices all the more piercing
she could, of course, use the equipment she has and lower problematic frequencies so that she sounds nicer but let's be honest, it's a miracle she even knows what a graphics card looks like
thus, the easiest and most realistic option for Kiara to make her voice sound less harsh is to simply trash the GoXLR

one of these days I'm gonna make a browser plugin that mixes the audio of youtube videos specifically for her voice, so we can all enjoy her streams even more

the goXLR is a decent interface with a pretty standard mic preamp, but the software that it relies on to work make it unreliable.
you can use EQ to increase or decrease emphasis on certain desirable or undesirable frequencies to improve the overall sound. many streamers use an EQ plugin on their mic, but I don't think that Kiara does.
You could try experimenting with EQ on a stream (like the current one) to see if there are frequencies in particular that makes her voice sound worse or better.

It goes way back. they're first collab would've been a "holotori" themed one in Minecraft in mid of 2021, if I'm not misremembering. Kiara actually thought Reine was a literally turkey, it was equally cringe and hilarious.
From there, turducken happened with Subaru, and they got along great. Then last year Kiara wanted to go on a nice vacation, and money woes meant none of her friends could really swing it. But Reine could, and Kiara asked and then the Maldives happened.
