People say wash it (abd some dumbas say use same water after) for cleaning.
But you are heating it so no problem in that way.
Washing it removes the starch, but is also the main nutritional value.
So you wash it so you dont get it clump.
Or you just use a BIGGER POT.
Like 5lt per Kg of rice minimun
And move it regularly so it dosnt stank in the bottom.
You can also add some oil to minimize it sticking togheter
Taste it, and when the grain is softening turn off the fire, let it a little more, then filter with COLD WATER to cut its self cooking.
Sound tedious, but is way simpler than it sounds.
