Twitch remains the better plateform for streaming, vtuber or not. Especially for indies, because of much easier discoverability and networking options.
Newfags who started watching streams with Hololive and the like got heavy biais because of that, simply because Japaneses didn't know about Twitch when they moved from NND.
The vast majority of indies are on twitch and don't even have any of that "Twitch culture" some people are afraid of, which is only a thing for huge streamers in specific communities.
Avoiding a vtuber simply because they're on Twitch have to be the dumbest take I've seen here, and I've seen some bad ones.

The best indie vtuber right now (Kumagai Chisato) is on youtube, though. Youtube has more quality indies, twitch just has the numbers. And yes, every indie on twitch eventually falls into the cancerous twitch culture because low effort reaction streams are popular amongst the zoomers that plague the site.

Both Youtube & Twith have their benefits, but Twitch holds its ground very strongly, especially for indies, with things such as :
- raids (VERY important between indies and have lasting and noticeable effects)
- sub gift
- better chat/emote system
- better moderations tools and chatbots
- a good system of game category
- audience is more dedicated and used to streaming etiquette compared to Youtube
Youtube has the advantage of better VOD system and video player including the rewind part (sadly often disabled) but as an indie Twitch is a bit better to pick it's not even close

I'm a big fan of bea, but I wish she moved to Twitch. She stayed on Youtube because her fanbase mostly came from Hololive and all answered Youtube when she asked back then. There are plenty of great indies on Twitch, like MinyaSeptember (also JP/EN) or Nina .

Not at all, with that many vtubers yes some of them are like that, but plenty aren't at all. I didn't check in a while but I'm pretty sure most if not all of the /wvt/ list doesn't ever mention or use anything related to "pronoun" bullshit and SJW things, hell some SJW from twitters tried to go after some of them, so it's quite the opposite.

Twitch makes the fans in my computer get very loud, Youtube doesn't for some reason. I like Youtube's interface better, it's much cleaner. Every time people bring up Twitch's superiority as a streaming platform they always point to that retarded "raid" system that does nothing but annoy actual long term fans in the chat. Sub gifting is a cope designed to drag the lifespan of naturally boring and uninteresting streamers. Despite all the bragging about Twitch's moderation tools chats are always very cancerous and spammy.

Niconico's bandwidth outside Japan sucks, though. Google has relay servers basically everywhere, which is what makes YouTube streaming so accessible, even with a shitty connection you can watch streams without buffering, no matter where you live.

Twitch may be better but man, their archive system is bad. I think you would have to make a request to keep the VOD up. Skipping to certain timestamps on VODs sometimes just crashed the site for me. Chatlog disappeared after a certain period of time (Not sure if this is the general case for everyone but it happened to channels I followed).
It might be on my end but Twitch streams require a lot more from your bandwidth than a YT stream.

Twitch is the second best vtuber platform and most vtubers there also have YouTube accounts. You can find Jp chuubas there too. It's good for streaming, easy to find vtubers and easy to choose who you do or don't want to watch. Plus there are more chill chats out there, that's more a problem with the really popular Twitch vtubers (which are relatively better than popular Twitch streamers).

That's the worst feature twitch has on the site. Without sub gifts you have to decide to give up some of your own money. It's usually a very small amount to be in member streams, which means almost anyone can afford it, and makes them a thousand times better because it filters children, casuals, and antis (or at least the majority which aren't so far gone that they pay money to hate on people). With a sub gift system there ends up being little to no difference between the two groups. I've had subs gifted to me for streamers I don't even care about while watching them stream for around half an hour.

It is on Twitch's end. I don't know the exact details, but someone broke it down a few months ago. Memory serves, it's basically that Twitch basically allocates most of its free bandwidth and such for partners - and among that, it's tiered with their most successful//Libersal-shills receiving higher favor, effectively.
