If streaming to a minimum by participating only to special events and collabs is her plan, then I think it's smart. It's better than graduating.

I barely give a shit about Gura, but I think it’s a combination of a few things:
1. Her falling out with Amelia from the Rust incident. Kiara and Tempus described the months following that incident in vague terms, but said that behind the scenes, it was “like mom and dad arguing.”
2. Borders reopened just as Gura’s steamtime plummeted. She’s been traveling for personal reasons.
3. Depression from her pre-Hololive days has resurfaced. She never really got to the root of why she was unhappy in her pre-Gura life.
One of the above or a combination of the three. She’s not retired so much as burnt out. She no longer enjoys being a vtuber.

I can't believe that she just hates streaming because her last non-event non-announcement streams were Outlast (which she played like she was a Beta Tester) which has been fully denied by Corporate from being streamed until it is "safe" at which point it won't be popular, and Bramble King which was a one off but had all the regular energy and hallmarks of a normal Gura stream.

But she's also the highest subbed English Vtuber, and Cover just opened up their 2 Trillion Ugandan Donger AR studio which she's been in and out of pretty judiciously. She either can't stream because she's working non-stop on corporate shit or she's waiting for things she actually likes. She isn't the type to just play Minecraft or Only Up for six streams in a row and then chat for an hour. She'd rather just do the chat and skip the "content" entirely if it's not something she likes, and what she happens to like isn't popular or permitted.
