They just endlessly talked about Splatoon the entire time, as a group they would be called the "Ink Girls". They went to the Nintendo store for a while but they didn't have the Splatoon squid mascot Flare was looking for. They also went to Ichibankuji to roll the lottery but they only ended up winning some cups and rubber straps. Akirose had plans so she left early so Flare and Irys went to get yakiniku together afterwards. Flare has also been talking with Irys offstream often recently, mostly about Splatoon. She looks at her friend list and always sees Irys playing Splatoon. Flare also watched Aki preparing for bosses in ARK and asked her why she wasn't invited but Aki told her she was still preparing.

She does lean into it, but since her lore entails being a vampire with essentially useless gummy teeth who drinks a kind of cherry juice because she doens't like blood, what you see from her is consistent.
I'd like to see a dangerous side to Meru though, just for the novelty like Kurokami but with more bite.

A stream ago when she was doing her "fierce" face it struck me just how well Ayamy drew Mel's eyes, which I've always really liked but never really thought deeply about why.
Basically I only noticed then that Mel's eyes are actually quite fierce at base, quite capable of being scary. They're the eyes of a blood sucking demon, but they've been taremeized and so neutralized. The danger's potentially still there but it's rendered harmless for the moment. That coupled with her placid demeanor and you have the cute genius vampire that lightly chomps without breaking the skin; more of a kiss.
Mel with tsurime eyes however, beatific expression or no, becomes the dangerous night creature all too easily.

My point is that's it's not as simple as flicking the tareme/tsurime switch, there's that deep amber color and those strange, bullseye like artifacts surrounding the pupils that add to the effect. Hard to explain, but it only hit me when she was playing splatoon against the others. I feel that for example just flicking that eyeshape switch with the other holos wouldn't garner the same effect as it would with Mel.

tl;dr I really like meru's eyes
