Okay after doing a bit of archive trawling in order to find out more made up lore. I think there's like two stories you could make out of this. The first is the obvious OC horror fic about some spirit desperately trying to exist which while it could be interesting is so loosely connected to holomembers that any one writing it would be better off just 'filing the serial numbers off' and making an original horror story about the concept. The second is running with the IRyS connection and making her 'lore' take the forefront and have her be the other half of hope that IRyS somehow took over; though either way this would have to be an OC-centered horror fic.

At some point for Balsa I want to show two Spears fighting each other. Problem is is I have no way to make that happen without out awkwardly jamming characters into a situation where they'd want/have to. Man, I am so late to these. I'll try not to repeat what's already said or bring up anything already addressed.

First of all, I loved this. I've been looking forward to the second installment for a while now and I am quite satisfied. I absolutely love the beginning beach scene, very descriptive language, cute fluff, and a reminder of the core concept all in one. But I particularly love it as it's a great moment to show Anon beginning to fall. I think singular moments like that are quintessential to the romance genre. Very well done.
Like everyone else, I love the way Towa gets confused about human concepts and sayings. Although I do question what devil society is like if Towa is confused about so much. Speaking of Towa, I like what you did with her. From what I understand, Towa is not a very open person and is kind of shy at times. I think you got some of her quirks well, (being uncomfortable receiving expensive gifts and being in crowds, liking sweets, not knowing how to react to being called cute, her glowing eyes, etc) Finally, I liked the Our Cures connection personally, I'm a big sucker for connected universes like that.

I generally agree with what the others said about Towa and Anon's dialog. Although I don't think it's a huge issue in terms of his part, because Towa values kindness above all. Going forward, you could have Towa be a bit more headstrong and/or even try to help Anon out unprompted. (I know she's a bit of a clean freak, so her cleaning the dorm, for example). I feel like Anon and Towa are actually very similar, so I think an interaction based on the concept of "who has a debt to who" could be interesting. I do want to say though, I disagree with the others about the narrative itself. I actually think a story like this needs to have a part that is just a slice of life. We need to know how Towa is initially integrating and affecting Anon's life before we can see any bumps in the road. It's setting up the stakes, as I see it.
The only thing I'm not fond of is how fast the attempted kiss comes I think it jumps the shark a bit. A moment like that I feel should come once the two of them are more comfortable in their respective roles in each other's lives. It "doesn't feel earned," even if it's unsuccessful Anon's feeling physically attracted to her is more than fine, but I think his horniness is rather sudden. The clothes-changing scene reads less like "Oh no, she's hot" and more like "Man I've been horny for her for a while." to me.

Overall, I loved it and I'm very much looking forward to the next installment.

A surprise but a welcome one. I quite enjoyed this one as well. I think you did a good job of capturing Polka's character. She's a very sensitive and conscientious soul but not without her doubt and I think you captured that well with all her second-guessing and guilt. I also think you did a great job of capturing the dynamic of NePoLaBo and I hope we get to see more of them. Another thing (that also applies to A Deal with the Devil) is that I like your use of the Stars. I'm always appreciative of using the whole vtubing buffalo as it were. I like Anon in this as well, he's got this roguish charm to him without being an ass. As always your ability to have the MC bounce off other characters is on point.

In regards to the beginning, I feel that Anon's apathy is communicated decently enough. I think having college ennui makes sense and I've certainly been there before. Stopping yourself before getting too philosophical or nihilistic was the correct call, as I think that runs the risk of becoming annoying. I do feel like Anon's attitude could lead to interesting developments. As someone who was almost hit by a car, I know I was pissed off as all hell, so his being so nonchalant makes me intrigued.
I think it could be especially interesting with Polka later down the line since it seems like she's given him this spark. Or maybe it's the near-death experience? In any case, I'd like to see why he thinks the way he does and how this experience has changed him and continues to change him.

In regards to the ending, I feel somewhat similar to how I did with A Deal with the Devil's second chapter but I like it better here than I did there. With what we know of Polka and even this Anon, it makes more sense. They both seem like passionate people, for better or worse. the build-up to it is done well, with it slowly dialing up until the wire snaps. Them jumping each other's bones could also be a point explored in the next entry, since to me it seems like both of them are desperate for affection. So I think them leaping at each other fits, but I think it depends on how the next entry plays off that.

That's about all I got to say since you said you're going to bring up Polka's desperation/the rebound in the next installment. Hopefully, Anon doesn't get too bent out of shape at any reveals of Polka's past heartbreaks. I'm interested in that plot point. Like I said earlier I think there is some good conflict in the dichotomy between Polka's desperation/rebound and Anon's newfound sense of passion/desperation.

This was very good, especially for something done on a whim. I'm eagerly looking forward to more.

Thanks for reading, it’s good that you enjoyed the Towa fluff. I really wanted to put a lot in this story since that’s the main focus. I’ve been watching Towa for a while now she is my oshi after all so it’s a relief to hear someone tell me I got some of her traits right.
I do plan on having a plot to this story, otherwise I’d run out of fluff scenes, but it won’t be a major adventure of with massive consequences, at least I don’t think. Stories rarely go according to plan. I only added that kiss in there during the last few touches. I guess I’m trying to go for a more realistic approach (because let’s be honest, those slow burn romance anime build ups do not happen irl) since two people who are together 24/7 are naturally going to become attached. I do agree in hindsight that it was a little early and I jumped the gun, but I don’t plan for Towa and Anon to get “together” towards the end but rather at about the halfway mark. I’ll try slowing things down some more, but that attempted kiss will become a small plot point later.

I am being spoilt rotten with all these lengthy reviews. Thank you for the read. Hearing I got the characters right is always relieving to hear. I watch gen 5 pretty frequently since they're all great, the banter between Nene and Lamy is especially fun to watch. I try to use the stars whenever I can, because if a dude has normal male friends is feel more natural. Shien is also funny as fuck so I like having him be a bro in the stories.
I was pretty worried about the opening with Anon's musings, so I'm glad it wasn't that badly received. I won't spoil anything but this and some other stuff like the crash will come up later. As for the ending, I find it extremely hot for two people who barely know each other communicate through horniness, but as I mentioned earlier things will slow down a bit and they'll talk things out some more in the sequel. The only thing I'm worried about is how I'll get Anon and Polka to share their problems without vomiting them out like I've made characters do in the past.

To be fair to Tolkien, his Elves live in many different places and have different cultures. It's just that LotR mainly shows Wood-elves in combat and they tend to use bows because they like to hunt and ambush, plus they're not too big on metalworking. If you look at the script files, Ninisanni is pretty chronological. Aside from Pomu, a path doesn't really branch in the common route. For the girls that have subroutes, it simply skips that event.
If you do have a branching focused VN, I recommend just using folders for each major branch.
There's no need to worry about variables and choices that branch until the playtesting stage. Biggest focus should be getting all the scenes down and then working them out so they don't conflict with each other.
