The biggest raising of hackles at what would transpire had to've occured during the '22 Christmas stream with Yuri's barely contained prechat outburst towards Lia giving a glimpse into the desperate condition of things. The entire new formula Yuri character model was in and of it's self one of those telling moments of self mutilation for the sake of trying to better accommodate the fans stemming from a place of manic insecurity that could only ever misinterpret things. This becomes more telling due to the tone and design of her new character. Ultimately Yuri served as a beautiful sacrifice to the company as a whole, giving her hostages a beautiful end to her life in the most spectacular way.

Of course this was difficult for Lia as Yuri was perhaps her most trusted confidant in sad girl menhera bonding and the implicit realization of the termination of their activities together would need to be utilized as a catalyst for her own transformation. In this capacity the sacrifices Yuri made towards being a "negative influence" in demonstrating clearly to the shared Phase Connect audience and talents what not to do we can only show some level of respect towards her. Yuri took on a difficult role and I think ultimately performed it to it's fullest extent.

The problem isn't saturation, it's that all these companies are acting like their market is Japan when their main audience is the US and to a lesser degree Europe. Going the full seiso idol route isn't something with a large marketable appeal unless you can get a girl who actually fits the seiso idol role naturally and completely, and none of them do. What works a lot better is general streaming and "edgy" content. That's where Phase first found its niche and where the majority of the growth came from. Sakana unintentionally stumbled upon the genius of combining heavy zatsu "pure" idols with the unhinged chaos of both new and oldschool internet shitlording.

I liked Yuri before she got fired but her content in the last few months was stagnant bordering on dead. Everything from her failed subathon onwards was a downhill spiral and she only has herself to blame. She had a good size audience that she could never capitalize on because she never streamed, and when she did she had energy for maybe an hour.

Also imo it was weird when they had to "close" their maroos out of nowhere and i had the feeling that most of them got put on a leash of sorts. The twitter feeds became less "edgy" overall" and in came the sponsorships. Which isnt a bad thing per se, yet overall it feels more and more that the thing that pulled many people in, imma call it the overall more unhinged "chaos" that was pc compared to other corpos is slowly being neutered. But again, maybe thats just me.
