So the frame is finally up. Let's try to analyze what new information we have. In the tweet, she said there will be a "luxurious guest" (豪華ゲスト) which usually implies someone that's a big deal from outside the company.
In the description of the video she says something among the lines "they let me do something that I have been wanting to do" (やりたい事を やらせて いただきました). I had a look at her official stuff she wants to do list in the description of her free chat but none of them really fit anything you could do as a stream project.
She also says there will not only be a major announcement, but a "super super super major announcement" (超超超重大告知) and I feel like she usually isn't the type to exaggerate about nothing. Looking at her list, the only thing that come to mind would be "Sololive", "collabo cafe" or "do work as a voice actress", but I'm not entirely sure if either of them fit the description of "super super super major", except maybe the Sololive, but everyone kind of already knows that has been in the work for a while even if not officially announced.

Apparently it was buggy as hell and the reception was lukewarm at best. I have literally never seen any of Gen1 use any of the gimmicks like the walking, crying, or the keyboard/controller modes. Fubuki used the Yandere eyes a single time and that's it. I don't think I've seen her cheeks move like it was demonstrated in the showcase a single time either, really weird. I agree, though maybe I am biased because I always enjoyed turned based games a great deal. I'm in the same boat, my friend. Change is mostly a scary thing, but necessary to avoid stagnation. Trial and error. In the case of something as subjective as art, it can be difficult to justify changes and make something that could be considered better. Some of the anons here have nostalgia and other feelings towards her main L2D model, things that can cloud our judgment and cause us to classify the changes as "bad". I'll go with "If Fubuki likes it, I'll like it", a stupid take, but she's the streamer, after all. Hope for a good visual update! I get the feeling it's a choice too, since there's no reason, even considering Cover's lack of competence, that she couldn't just use the old model version for those outfits. It just might seem rather jarring if the maintenance is that significant, so maybe she doesn't want to, and asked they remove the previous model outright after the update.

1.0 (sharp chin) is gone and is upgraded to 2.0 (round face) which is her original base
tek and western using something like 1.5
casual and new year is similar to 1.5 with small difference

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought too, why not let her have both until they update the others? Her default and her other outfits have already had different faces to begin with so nothing would have changed. You'd think they'd take the time to update all of them in one go if they really want to do this update, how hard can it be considering they have barely done any work on outfits for her for close to three years. It's really stupid. I'm now pretty much convinced they are making some sort of major changes and are porting them to all outfits. I just hope it's just a technical thing to make her more fluid and not a design one. I'd be pretty annoyed if they ruined her and then ported it to all other outfits.

My thought is that it might be a completely new L2D outright. Given apparently it's meant to be as though she grew up a bit, it's possible all components for her previous outfits would just be incompatible or look off, so it would all have to be redone.

Azki only ever gets a new default because that's how she does things but the old looks don't get erased from existence and you still see them during some lives.
Nene and Flare had their own reasons for complete redesigns.
Roboco also had a reveal with the exact same wording but it only made her look marginally different. If there had not been a stream about it, most people probably wouldn't even realize anything had changed.
You can clearly see that the silhouette for today's reveal is still the same design, but not the same drawing. Maintenance would fit the idea of updating her base look for good to avoid the current mess.

I honestly think it's more of a capacity rather than a money issue. She keeps mentioning Mito is very busy whenever talking about new outfits (or back when Kuro's model came out). I'd guess if we are lucky, we will have one of them back by the end of the year, but I'm not counting on it. The Alice in Wonderland outfit will probably come out before the old ones are back.
