Okay, anon. Back to where we left it. It's 11PM and you are wandering around this cold city. Your fingers are in pain because of the low temperatures but your spirit feels a greater pain knowing things will never be the same.
You can't stop thinking about what happened today, every time you close your eyes the fear buried in your brain comes back, but thinking about it won't be of any help. You need to do something before you go insane. You need time to think if what you saw was even real.

It's 11:40PM, you have calmed your thoughts but you are tired, not only mentally but also physically. You see in the corner of this street a cafe, and through a window you see a really cute asian-looking girl watching videos on her smartphone. The expression on her face makes you think of the words "cutie" and "dope". Somehow looking at her relieves your pain and makes you forget everything about today for a moment. You feel the need to talk with her.

What will you do? No, don't say mating press, I won't let this campaign end like the previous one. You only have enough money to buy the cheapest cofee available. No, you don't have any items with you apart from your dirty clothes and your red scarf. Suspicious? Yeah you are suspicious as fuck, anon, remember what happened during our last session.
What will you do?

I order a coffee, and sit in her blind spot in the cafe. Like you said, the things I saw today, everyone could be something that they don't appear today. What's real? What's fake? The only way to figure out whats happening is by watching, waiting, learning, and then striking when the time is ready. I roll perception to try and overhear her if she says anything, and another to see if I can see what she is watching when I walk past her to get to the counter.

Ina was literally bleeding to death and Calli held the finishing blow and started getting softer. I really thought that she would have the guts to go through with it but she didn't. I must say I'm disappointed. A death in the session0 would have been incredible, and a strong flex of DM seriousness. Hopefully she will deaths happen when they actually need to in the main game.

Retarded opinions. I would take an harsh but fair DM over an inconsistent DM that handwaves everything. If it makes sense, a deserved death is way better than forced survival. Yuul was admittedly quite unlucky, but Calli held back from actually hurting her for quite a bit before doing actual damage, so it's not like the consequences of the fight were undeserved. Even if she was invested in the character, shit happens and that is a part of the game ebery player should be aware of.

I feel Ina played Yuul just fine.
What mentally capable post-graduate college student would actually want to associate herself with a circle of bitches that call themselves magic science specialists, when she specifically studies biology and chemistry in order to get her post-graduate study in the first place.
Why would she also want to choose to go out into the woods, that she knows children have been disappearing from and transformed into stick puppets. Let alone going there with literally 7 men that are drunk, and 1 other woman that's clearly in college for the second time to experience college life(to get fucked by 7 men in the woods)
She made the logical decision as Yuul whenever she can.
She complied with the professor that she's been assisting for years and would do anything for as said by Mori, and retrieved the van like she was ordered to, and took out the janitor as was ordered to.
It was perfectly reasonable that Yuul would act in such a way.

Nah, Ghoul regeneration is very basic. Of course it's better than nothing, but not anything amazing.

For example in Ina's case Yuul would be able to hold just one point of Vitae(Vampire Blood) in her system since she only have one dot of Stamina. And the regeneration would be what? One Vitae healing two bashed or one lethal? If she becomes a Ghoul that blood would be better used on some Discipline.

>Seeing now that a frat party definitely was not the right kind of hook for a character like Yuul
TL;DR IMO The frat party was 1000% the right call.

Yuul COULD go off and make a ton of biology checks and blast through picking up leaves and sticks. But that wouldn't engage Ina's interest in the game. It's just describing scary woods, she picks up sticks and leaves, hears some stuff in the woods, and you basically have to skip straight to the Hook to hook her.

But the party serves to push on Yuul's and Ina's weakness: Talking to people. It forces Ina to figure out how her character reacts to a variety of situations, engages the player, and all while being totally safe. With someone like Chad Chaddington to power through whenever Ina freezes up Mori can even walk her right past any hooks Ina isn't interested in.

This lets Ina grapple with how Yuul is played, lets Ina pick up on people she can talk to, and gives Ina something to do that isn't boring.

She could meet the Chad Brotherhood there hunting down a stick child, others saying it's a supernatural being and should be destroyed, and Ina having to decide whether to try protect the young child, or side with the hunters.
She could also find the witch bitches in there and she could be in the middle of a confrontation between the chads and the witches, that way she will have support from either side that Yuul sides with.

Short answer: Not really.
Long answer: In Old World of Darkness, it's difficult due to the amount of handwaving that players and GM handwaving have to do to the huge amount of metaplot and mythology behind each book, some of which contradict each other, to the point where every book has their own version of the apocalypse. And the fact that some have built-in lore reasons for hatred and defenses as well, for an instance Vampires are considered to be one of the absolute banes of Mother Earth by werewolves, those furballs can easily kill a vamp to boot, and Werewolves are prone to believe that they should conquer Earth and treat humans as cattle, which isn't something Mages can agree with. To be honest, combining two splats isn't very difficult, but if you try to combine too many it can be a bit clusterfucky, since the power levels of each supernatural faction are way too different. How do you balance a story when a Werewolf is a walking tank with fangs, Mages can alter reality and Hunters are supernaturally driven to hate everything nonhuman?
With New World of Darkness, which isn't as heavy on stone-written lore and built more as a toolbox, it's easier. But not by much. You can use a NPC Vamp or a Wolf as an enemy for a Hunter to face, but the power level difference still exists.

If Yuul had just gone forth with her errand, it wouldn't have been as interesting since she was just accomplishing the task she set out to do from the very start. There's not much in the way of engagement or intrigue with that route; it's basically just a fetch quest. It was also the best way to introduce the Brohood since it was them in their natural environment. You couldn't sell me on the idea of a college fraternity of vampire hunters if they showed up in another setting because they'd seem so out of place and silly.

As for Ina's decisions being in line with her character, there's still the issue of ignoring every plot hook Mori tried throwing at her. It's "yes, and" when you're doing improv. There were ways in which it would be totally in line for Yuul to stick around and investigate, since both Chad and the sorority girl were giving not at all subtle clues about the strange going-ons in town that the professor warned her about, to say nothing of literally being offered the call to adventure by the Brohood and going "no thanks" even if it meant it was endangering her friend Nita.

Also like, c'mon. A hikki getting dragged to a college rager instead of collecting tree branches by herself. It's just funny.

Ina did pick up on the hook of the van in the forest, which was unexpected by Mori because you could hear Mori's excitement as Ina said that.
She probably just thought it was cool because of the darkness and everything.

We can do some fa/tg/uy math anon!

Yuul have three dots of Drive with a speciality of "Agressive Driving". Most Drive rolls are paired with Dexterity, which in Yuul's case is three.

So, for now Yuul's pool againts Hookbro is equal to seven dice.

Let's add Roadkill into the mix. This is kinda complicated because Ina doesn't have the other Merits necessary to have Roadkill, but let's continue anyway.

Roadkill adds two AUTOMATIC sucesses per 20 miles per hour her vehicle is moving. A minivan has a top speed of 105/mph in this system (sauce is this site since I'm lazy and don't wanna look into the books: http://www.nwod.org/wiki/index.php/Vehicles))

So, 105/20 equals 5.25 so Yuul have 10 automatic sucesses with Roadkill added. So, well, how Hookbro fares against optimal scenario Yuul's minivan?

He have a natural Defense of 6 + 4/4 Armor. Yuul's pool of 7 dice becomes a Lucky Die, but she still have her 10 automatic sucesses thanks to an optimized Roadkill minivan. Let's say those sucesses hit even if her Lucky Die is shit. Hookbro would take 10 damage. He have a health of 15 so he still would be fine. With his Contracts, high stats and shitton of Glamour he would very likely still fuck Yuul up, but could've been fun see a True Fae get a little fucked up by an undergrad sleep deprived girl with a minivan.

Probably there's some worng shit in this since I'm not overly familiar with the rules involved, but still this was fun to write and to ponder about.

According to the books, if it’s usually called iron, it counts as cold iron at least, if not hand-forged iron. If it’s called steel or oxides or anything else, it doesn’t. Intentionally forged alloys aren’t iron any more, but a hunk of iron ore pulled out of the ground is, as its impurities are naturally occurring. It’s also worth pointing out that the term “cold iron” is just a bit of poetry. Iron doesn’t literally need to be cold to have its effects on the fae. You could pick up a wrought-iron fencepost that’s been sitting out in an Arizona summer sun all day and it will still break through fae enchantments.

And the PCs don’t decide to try to punch it.

So I doubt wrought iron made with modern techniques would work, and you could argue if a door constitutes a useful shape. At the very least it has to be forged while LARPing as a ye olde smithe.

So actually looking into things, your math is wrong. In the Chronicles of Darkness CRB (this is the game they are playing) it says this about hitting things with vehicles.
"This occurs when a vehicle hits something equal to or less than half its Size. The light object suffers one tenth the vehicle’s Speed in bashing damage, plus half its Size (rounded down)."
Roadkill reads "When you try to run someone over, Knock Down even if you miss, and double your velocity bonus." so double the damage there.
Also "If the driver is actively trying to strike the light object, make a Dexterity + Drive roll, penalized by Defense if ap-plicable. Failure means the vehicle fails to hit. Successes are added to the damage caused to the victim, but not to the driver and passengers." so if she rolls a perfect roll of 1d10 (Hooks defense is 6) all successes, thats another 1 damage.

SO, 105/10 = 10.5 = 10 damage, double that to 20 damage, 2 size bonus (lets assume Hook is as small as he can be which is 5), plus 1 damage for the drive check bringing it to 23 damage. Assuming Yuul strapped iron to the front, that would all be aggravated damage.

Hooks maximum health is 17. 23 Aggravated damage to the face instantly splats Hook across the pavement. Even if the armor he has prevents the aggravated damage, this still does 19 damage. Of course, if Yuul didnt put iron on the front of her car then this does absolutely nothing.
