I have a similar opinion to this. Don't watch Kilia and I usually hate ASMR, actually the "triggers" don't give me "the tingles" as people describe them, they just make me irrationally angry. Also positive affirmation and shit like that when said too explicitly triggers the fight or flight mode. Something just feels wrong about it.
That is why I personally think what Skye did with her oneesan RP ASMR was perfect. No triggers, no lovebombing, just using the 3DIO to increase the immersion and taking chat responses as a story beats to RP.
I can't put my finger on exactly why, but for some reason the way she spoke and the words she used conveyed such strong feeling of genuine familial care that it made me incredibly relaxed and actually feel... safe?
