They believe corporations have a fundamental right to free speech and free expression but if they use their economic clout to express those things in ways conservatives disagree with then it's "cancel culture". No, it's a really bad idea.
First of all, politics is an inherently divisive issue. Most people from the liberal arts circles (aka the ones that become vtubers) are, as the name suggests, liberals, very left-leaning people. So as you can imagine, the right-wing crowd and edgelords from /pol/ are going to wage war against such a personality. That would force such a vtuber to exist in a bubble, which won't be fun for anyone. And you can't be a centrist either, because that would just bring both political camps upon your ass.
The second issue is education. All too many "political commentators" on YT are uneducated in actual politics, they're journos and economists most of the time. Their actual input is worthless, and they act more like celebrities, selling merchandise and building their carrier on how viral they are, not how correct they are. The problem is, you can make a somewhat coherent video on the subject even without education, you just need a script. But streaming is different. Someone like Paul Joseph Watson, for instance, becomes a blabbering idiot the second he goes off-script, while Ben Shapiro became a god among political commentators and a "cool kids philosopher" simply because he has some actual education in political science and he practiced public speaking. So even if you want to become a political Vtuber for some reason, you need to be at least as good as Ben Shapiro.
The only way to do this would be to have two very educated people of opposing political views discuss news and have debates. That way, it would be a discussion worth listening to, and it won't alienate half of the population. Good luck finding women with such education willing to put on shows and use silly anime avatars for some godforsaken reason. The talent pool won't be very large.

CNN tried this in the 00's with Crossfire and it went so badly that Tucker Carlson got fired when comedian Jon Stewart called him out for repeating nothing but talking points and forcing intentionally sensationalist arguments on the show for ratings instead of encouraging compromise and healthy discourse. Ironically ever since then network news has turned into the very same scheme of just having paid shills for "both sides" with a long list of credentials who only exist to spark arguments among themselves that ultimately amount to nothing but riling up viewers. That format is kind of doomed to end up the same way since the average American has no idea how to debate and there's no such thing as a true "middle ground" in politics where you can agree to disagree. Either one person is wrong or both people are wrong, but it's impossible for both sides of the spectrum to be right. It also doesn't help that we've reached such a breakdown of political discourse that certain groups don't even agree on the same reality or the same set of facts anymore. There's literally factions who think the current US government is illegitimate even though they have 0 legal evidence, stuff like that you truly cannot debate when one side is just making up the facts as they go. In the 20's and 30's America was a hotbed of union activity, the IWW was planning on initiating a cross-country general labor strike. They both hate worker organization, they don't support social services beyond the most anemic (see the democratic opposition to medicare for all, a policy that would be considered middle of the road or even conservative in most of western europe), and they're both imperialist warmongers. How do you rally voters? Cultural issues. Trans bathroom bills, late night talk shows and social media having a liberal bias, the general culture war of small town/small business tyrants and smug liberal cocksuckers, identity politics, this is the heart of US politics. About the only topic of any substance is abortion, which has deep religious ties as well, and the presence of American Protestantism is a whole other can of worms.

Bernie Sanders is widely considered a far left commie moonbat when he'd be a dime a dozen centrist wherever you're from. Political discourse in this country is not connected to economic issues or class analysis at all, it's all fucking whimsy and bullshit.

I don't see why you need to be a vtuber to do politics, most people who watch vtubers want the scene to be as far removed from irl politics as much as possible, and it seems to me like every vtuber and even their predecessors like utaites or NND cookie types in Japan have some hard rule that everyone follows for some reason to never talk about stuff like politics or religion, or at least try not to talk about stuff like that as much as possible.
