The steam thing makes sense if you assume she's insane.
I heard a while ago about a former classmate of mine who as normie as you can get, yet in the following years she unstabilized due to death of relatives and the pandemic. She became paranoid, accusing her work colleagues and even friends of conspiring against her. Her bf woke up in the middle of the night to see her trying to cut off an internet cable with a knife and got scared. He wasn't pretty well himself either (on top both were addicted to weed), still he dumped her and grabbed all the stuff in their apt. She became even more paranoid and violent, to the point of doing public scandals. She also got taken advantage from. Stuff happened, she ended up on a psychiatric on a couuntry an ocean away, and she's back, haven't heard any more from her. She would text her friends and ask them for help and money, make plans, and randomly stop responding at all and even blocking them, suicidebaiting, etc. To make things worse, both her mother and grandma had a history of being menhera as well, and her brother is diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Tl;dr: Given from the statements I saw and the things Riifu said, I belive she might be mentally insane, even actual schizophrenia is possible. Not as terrible as my classmate though, since all the time I watched her I didn't ever notice an ounce of insanity, and even if she's an introvert and that's why she doesn't make scandals in public, I feel she speaks too rationally to be obviously crazy. Still, that would explain getting mad over not keeping a steam account, being paranoid about coworkers (mods and staff, she's been pretty positive about the talents themselves) and lying to her fans (as exposed by the fake no-streaming clause). Assuming this is true, I can't call her evil or anything really, it's just her head that isn't okay

Eh, it's not a crazy since it's a conclusion I arrived to precisely because she reminds me of someone I know and behaved in a similar way. I wasn't in any discord cause I only liked to watch her stream fun games she liked while she went on autistic ramblings and burped, but I have been /here/ since the beginning and from what's been leaked and posted before I'll choose to believe the statement for now since it doesn't really seem out of character for Riifu. With health issues and the overall energy in the last week of her streams I can easily see her deciding to quit being Riifu over the games being on the company account. From what I've seen she likes her community but wants to be seperated from EIEN which is why she's still somewhat active past graduation which is why we know she doesn't hate us. But if that was really the tipping point about her posting that her contract was so bad, to leave after setting up more emotes and promising more stuff in the future is a really menhera move I could see her pulling even though while I believe it I still want it to be a lie. I hope you're right about 10 months and she streams again so we can watch her be happy for once but I will support my bro while I wait since I enjoy her just as much. I never considered myself a full on Riifling but I did like Riifu a lot, and I truly believed she enjoyed spending times with us. The Elder Ring streams were some of the comfiest vtuber streams I ever been part of, and it's truly a shame that she had to go.
With that said, I know too well that women lie all the time, so I don't even bother picking sides in this. I just wanted Riifu to become an indie or something and stream again cuz I think she was good at it.
