Let's compare both with HoloJP

I assume they had more grandiose plans for it, having even hired cute girls that can sing (which I assume was part of the plan of making it lean on that direction, hence mfmf involvement).
The thing is: Hal is still funding it mostly from his pocket and whatever sponsor he can scrounge, which he could on his own (and Reid’s too) anyway without a whole company

I’m obviously speculating here but follow my reasoning

If they offer Hal the same arrangement I say he would take it without hesitation.

They live in one city and hang out with each other irl all the time similar to how JP does it while it took ages even for NA members to get together for the first time and just a few days it's hard to compare. I don't really see ID doing that much better outside of minecraft when they actually have at least two autists while EN have zero and doesn't seem to give a fuck. Unlike most other lines of work being an isolated corpo vtuber rarely if ever works out. Even Pekora who's a hikki still collabs with other members once in a while and is willing to host big tournaments almost by herself. This is a quite social line of work so being friends with the people you will share a stage sometime in your career is highly advisable, and being geographically isolated to the point you're forced to fly over to even hang out with one of them will affect them negatively.
